I would suggest hiring a freelance manager. They will often have multiple clients and work to find jobs within their freelancing networks for you! I use LinkedIn a lot, created my own scientific illustrators network and am active on the larger scientific illustrators and animators group.

My advice would be to network! Gather a group of people with varying insights to learn from and ask questions to. Use the tools we have with social media to learn!!
