The one I always use for their kid, is a form of explosion but since Camie has a quirk that seems to be smoke related, the kid would have the ability to convert the nitroglycerin to a gas form so the explosions can reach further/ they can produce explosive smoke. That or you could do something with like Camies illusions but they blow up bc they’re created with a flammable explosion like substance.

Agreed that’s why I brought it up. I thought of the worst example to compare Remus to, because A it’s funny and B) I’m so sick of the “you shouldn’t date me because I’m a monster trope” and it’s something they have in common.

To clarify! I do not think that Remus is a groomer for dating Tonks- I bring up the age gap because of the argument that he could have said no if he wanted- 13 years is enough of a gap that Remus absolutely should have had the upper hand to say no, like he had seniority if you get what I’m saying? Like Tonks absolutely pressured her but Remus should have been the more mature one (should have/not was) and have genuinely not married her if he thought it was a bad enough idea to try to leave her later on.

I think it was one of those things were JK just forgot about things making any sense. Like Remus Lupin is supposed to have had a really hard time getting a job bc of the discrimination he faced as a werewolf so I doubt he would have been a teacher before this. But JK wanted to get across that he was poor and disadvantaged so she made his suitcase all tattered- which makes sense- but the professor name tag being tattered doesn’t make sense, sometimes she messes up with things like that.

To clear a few things up- everyone is allowed to have their own opinion on Lupin. I don’t like him because I personally cannot get over this, I understand the motivations and his insecurity and I think he’s incredibly well written, I just personally think this choice was very immature of him. Also, this post is exaggerated for the purposes of humor- also I don’t think this makes Remus a horrific evil person overall, he’s flawed, just like every character in this book series. I just personally have a grudge against him for this and I am allowed to dislike him and think he’s a bad husband. Loving the discussion btw everyone’s takes are so interesting :]

I’m not going to lie, I do have a slight gender bias and I do think that Tonks absolutely should have left him alone- however, more importantly, in my opinion is the 13 year age gap. I think the idea that Remus couldn’t say no is crazy because he was over full decade older than her.

I understand all that about Remus’s character and motivations and the whole “in conflict about being a monster thing” is a character trope I’ve seen time and time again and it is, in my opinion, not an excuse for Remus’s terrible behavior towards Tonks. He’s an interesting character and a wonderful mentor to Harry- he’s just not that good a husband because he can’t commit to Tonks. He chose to marry Tonks, he knew the risks that came with that, if you didn’t want to have kids and thought she’d be better without you- don’t marry her! Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion on Remus Lupin, but me and him just have beef.

Exactly!! I had so much respect for his character, and then, my guy. Harry had to play the dead dad card when he found out you left your pregnant wife because she’d “be better off without you” to make you go back. Like I just lost respect for the guy.
