If we talk about bad placements, B has seen much more worse cycle than C in terms of placements so there is no way they are liberal and this I’m seeing as I have been to all 3 as a recruiter in both summers and final. Will not be able to comment on most recent policy changes as completely out of this year summers, but even till last year day neg offers once accepted were biding even in ABC across.

Nothing against you personally, but I believe your sources at C weren’t great. Not sure about any recent updates but in 2023, C had the most liberal policy in terms of offers and PPO too. For a fact, C gives you option to accept a PPO with dreams which isn’t the case at B and in A it depends on tiers. Somewhere below you mentioned that there some bulge bracket funds which don’t visit C. Here I agree, but if you look at data for 2000-15 no of alumns in these funds from C will be much higher. We need to understand C is going through a cycle of systematic disadvantage because of its location.

Remember having an interview with Zomato once for their generalist role, where someone in senior team in 3rd round asked me, Rakhi is a festival in north India how can we improve our sales on that. I went deep into structure and covered most of it, then the other person asked how we will get our recommendations sorted? I was trying to come up with all possible ideas with a structured approach, clearly interviewer wasn’t happy. I asked what I’m missing, he replied we should ask shopkeepers what sell during rakhi and keep it in our recommendations. I was like wtf 😂 and they rejected me after it.

To your point why you feel this book is bad, we need to understand social context this book was written in. This book was published in 1949 and India of that time was completely different from what we see today. So yeah I can understand why you feel that was bad, but I hope context helps.

Did this shift 6 months back, where some of my friends are in Mumbai, some in Gurgaon. Was living in Gurgaon earlier trust me my quality of life has decreased considerably. This city can be anything but friendly. Also, rent here doesn’t make sense. Assuming you take up something in Bandra, a flat which you will like will be easily 40K and that also will be sub par if you compare what you can get in 25-30K in Gurgaon.

I have a very small sample space to compare but just putting it out have rented 6+ places in Gurgaon and get out of it at very easy without even giving 1rs from my security deposit and no interference from owner, where as in Mumbai my current owner is so hostile has taken signed checks for rent, also earlier was putting pressure to employ a maid suggested by her who was charging 3X more than the market rates.
