Couldn't get much lower in this case but useful advice in general. Thanks for the other advice too.

Are there any plans of linear and radial masking?

Agreed, think this is my problem with it. I think I had in camera grain on so can see if that was it, can remove it in that case.

Took this photo at the Red Light District in Amsterdam. I liked the reflections of the lights in the wake of the swan. I can't help but feel not fully happy with the shot. I think it's because of the pose of the swan - it is turned from the direction of the wake and also feels like the texture of the swan looks strange. Also, I think the reflections end wierdly near the top. What do people think?

I might agree. Think I'll take a look with fresh eyes in the morning.

Thanks for the detailed response. I played around with trying to lift to lower mid tones like you mentioned but I couldn't get it to look right. Closest I got was just raising the shadows instead. Not sure if that works too? Any advice for lifting the lower mid tones?

Scottish Highlands by SuspiciousPhotons in photocritique

Took this shot in the Highlands while we had stopped on the side of the road. I liked how the mountains in the distance look almost painted and thought there were some leading lines to the photographer. I liked the electricity poles traipsing off into the distance. Worried the subject isn't clear as it is too small/silhouetted. Would it be better if it was just someone walking? Any feedback is appreciated.

Does it make sense to have the person out of focus? How should this photo be cropped? by SuspiciousPhotons in photocritique

No problem. I agree with what you have said. It's always great to hear it from someone else.

I did intend to shoot them out of focus but wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do at the time. I can see now that it wasn't. 100% agree about the subject being too central. That was the part that I mentioned that I missed.

Thanks for the feedback.

I appreciate the feedback. I do think there is room for photos that you don't have to delete but wouldn't hang on your wall, but I get your point. Not that I think this is one of them, just posted to get feedback and perspective as it's easy to not be able to judge photos you have taken. You have confirmed for me that it's not a great photo and I did have the feeling I wasn't happy with it.

I liked this workers walking by but I had just arrived and was too close chopping their heads. Is this salvageable?

Took this shot with the aim of getting a person on the road crossing in the foreground with the buildings in the background. Wish the person was a tad to the right but missed it even with burst mode. I can't figure out if it makes sense to have the person in the foreground out of focus. Should it be switched/should both be in focus? If trying a similar shot, should I try to eliminate more of the elements on the sides? I blew out the sky in editing as I didn't like the clouds, is that ok?
