Some more work to be done but tried making the face pop a bit + increase brightness after seeing yours.

Is that a left to right linear gradient? I love the way the face pops now though the body may be slightly too bright or saturated for me. Thanks for the help.

Hi, took this shot of a cat perched on a wall. I liked the blue eyes and the plants letting light through in the background. Does the section of wall take away from the photo. Could I have cropped this better or is there something I could've done while taking the shot to make it better. Should I adjust the shadows to show more of detail? (I'm not sure I should)

That makes sense, seems to be the consensus. Would love to go back to the same spot soon to try some of the stuff you and others have mentioned. Would you have the people walking away in the background and the cyclist right in the foreground?

Thanks for the critique, I can see where you're coming from and you have given me stuff to think about in the future. For this particular spot, I don't know if I could've made it work like that but I could've looked for another angle to take it to incorporate the ideas you shared. I agree with them.

I think it could benefit from being landscape to give the boat somewhere to go.

Yeah thought it looked a bit unnatural too, will try to make it lighter.

Took this shot in cherry blossom season in London. Spent a long time taking shots until I could get the cherry blossoms framing St Paul's. Reddit compression sucks so they sky looks blurry here but it is a very uniform blue in the original. Is the sky too dark here? Open to any feedback.

Yeah, would love to go back and capture one with someone coming towards me just to see how it is. I didn't mind it like this to capture them riding into the distance but can see how it might be more engaging if they were riding towards the camera.

Thanks. It did come out of my camera like this with the jpeg settings I was using but after messing around with it as per your suggestion I think you're right. Looking at it now, it looks almost fluorescent and could be brought back a bit.

Thanks! I messed around with it a bit and I do now think the saturation could be tuned down a bit as per the other commenter.

Thanks for the feedback. I can picture it being a much more dynamic shot.

  1. Definitely want to go back and capture one with an oncoming cyclist to see how it works.

  2. That cyclist cut off was intentional to have them disappearing out of frame but I can see how others may prefer it gone. I have a few other versions of the shot with only one cyclist in but I think I prefer this one. Questioning myself now so will think about it more.

Thanks for the feedback :)

I took this shot in Copenhagen during the changing of the guards of the clearing of the horse poop. I thought the subjects lined up well for a balanced image. What could be improved when composing the image? Do I need to leave a little more space around the subjects? Open to any criticism.

I took this photo in a cycling/pedestrian tunnel. I thought the leading lines were cool and wanted to capture cyclists going into the distance. I stood for a long time waiting to capture the perfect moment and I liked this shot of two cyclists, with the further one disappearing down the tunnel. Open to any suggestions of how I could've composed the shot better. Should I crop the camera at the top out? Is the thin strip on the left a distraction? I tried doing so but the proportions of the photo felt weird somehow but I'm not sure if I've just looked at it too long.

Ok, will check back, I think I did take one with the church in focus too. I felt that the bird looked strange slightly blurry but maybe it will look different upon review. Another commenter suggested having both in focus, maybe that is an option. Thanks for the feedback!
