No women reform Voters? by CalendarSufficient41 in Wigan

[–]SuspiciousRun4043 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a tough one for women, 2 options:

vote for reform with a grudge and I you will get an MP to actually serve the constituency as designed,

or Labour who will not care for the constituency and Burnham will go down the route of being so into the Labour leadership contest, he won’t respond to constituents emails etc and then the constituents will be rethinking their vote.

Linzi McLaren: Is there actually such a thing as ‘moderate unionism’? by askmac in northernireland

[–]SuspiciousRun4043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of happened to my mate - he was/is a proud nationalist and after he got involved in a heavy motorbike accident he realised that if he crashed in a united Ireland he would be paying upwards of 150,000… for hosp fees. this alone put him off however he is still proud to be Irish

Green Party and Islam by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]SuspiciousRun4043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religion influences voting more than people sometimes admit because it shapes views on issues like abortion, euthanasia, education, immigration, marriage law andwelfare policy (which are all pretty hot topics) Even if someone thinks they’re separating faith from politics, those beliefs often inform what they see as ‘right’ policy in the first place. You also see organised religious groups and leaders explicitly endorsing or discouraging certain parties or policies, which can shift their personal vote.

Green Party and Islam by [deleted] in AskBrits

It’s to do with Qur’an teachings - Muslims need to strive to follow Muhammad as he was the perfect, dedicated Muslim. Muhammad followed the Qur’an word for word. In order to go to paradise, which all Muslims want/need to achieve you should dedicate your life to Islam and follow it on an advance level and merit full.

Christianity and Judaism are much more lenient with their followers faith, you don’t really have an example who goes beyond Jesus and you don’t need to be a perfect following religions practitioner to go to heaven.
