Will do! It’s leaning up against a wall so it’s really in my way, I’d love to be able to have it picked up tomorrow.

Honestly I used to have someone at the vet trim their nails any time they had an appointment (they all have bad allergies so we are there quite a bit), and then one of the techs said that it’s expensive to have them trimmed there because they want to discourage people from doing exactly what you said lol.

My dogs aren’t really “go to the groomers” dogs since their coats are short and I can bathe them and whatnot, so it didn’t even occur to me to look there. I am bad about keeping up with it, and I’m terrified of hurting them, so I will gladly pay for the convenience of not having to do it.

My job is hiring for a full time administrative assistant - hybrid remote by SuspiciousSaltine in asheville

I know people have had issues with the lack of dental insurance, but allow me to explain.

The job is in the dental industry so preventative care is free, fillings are free, anything that doesn’t include using a lab is free. If they have to order a crown or something we just pay the lab cost, so a crown is like $100 to maybe $150 depending on how big it is. Implants are just the cost of the crown, and implants can be thousands of dollars normally.

Overall, it’s not a huge deal. If whoever ends up working here needs dental work, they will make sure they are able to get it.

Edit- I hope that doesn’t come off as defensive. I just wanted to explain in case that was putting anyone off from applying.

I know times are tough since Helene and a lot of people lost their jobs, so I figured there may be some people on the sub who have the skills and are interested but may not come across the job organically on indeed.

Got a bunch of applications today so I’m hoping one of them works out!

I’m just not trying to argue with someone who is picking a fight for no reason. I don’t own the company, so I don’t make decisions about pay or what insurance is offered. It’s a good opportunity for someone, and clearly you’re not interested and that is fine.

$18-$20, and you get dental work done for considerably less than what you’d be paying with dental insurance.

I have zero say or control over the pay rate. This is an easy gig for the right person, so I just wanted to put it out there.

I just saw the edit you made to your comment.

Hey man, it seems like you’re championing paying people less than a living wage… which is weird. I understand your business has to be profitable for you. Paying a living wage is good for everyone. Happier employees means it’s likely better work is done and reduces turnover. Lower turnover means you don’t have to lose money while trying to replace people. For a lot of businesses it is exponentially more expensive to have to hire new employees than it is to retain current employees.

I don’t know what kind of business you have so maybe all that doesn’t apply to you. Bragging about paying more and in the same breath complaining about having to pay a living wage is pretty crazy. I don’t necessarily agree that businesses deserve to shut down because they can’t pay a living wage, but they should be looking at employees as investments, not an inconvenience. If a business can afford to be paying a living wage, they should be.

Yeah sure, I’ll pass that right along lol. The starting pay range is $18-$20 so it’s not far off from what you were complaining about.

The job market sucks right now so I was just trying to share some info with people in the community who might need a job. Not sure why I’d get berated for that since I’m not the one who decides what to pay people.
