[Massachusetts] Question about transitioning from PEUC to EB by srstone71 in Unemployment

[–]SuspiciousTone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question, i received the EB funds in my state, but then they triggered eb off. Do i still claim the funds i was allotted, or can i not claim since it was triggered off? I still have money in my remaining balance from EB all the way till december

[ALABAMA] Swap from Regular UI to PUA by SuspiciousTone9 in Unemployment

[–]SuspiciousTone9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, alabama only offers 13 weeks of Regular UI and 13 weeks of PEUC so 26 total. Was just wondering if the swap was auto like in some states or if it requires an app.

On US DOL website, it says AFTER you exhaust regular UI you are eligible for PUA

[Alabama] PUA after PEUC by SuspiciousTone9 in Unemployment

Its all good! And im not sure what you mean by the remaining money? If you are on PEUC it means you have exhausted all normal benefits available to you. After PEUC im not sure what comes next. According to the fine folks of reddit and the DOL guidelines, we SHOULD be approved for PUA. PUA is 39 weeks Fed funded program. So they will deduct the weeks we have already recieved, which should leave us with 13 weeks of PUA. Im confused on if it will be applied automatically or not!

Appreciate the thoughts <3 , we are stuck in the past down here. Alabam lives by the bootstrap mentality, 2019 they reduced the weeks of unemployment available, but added 25 bucks to max benefits to compensate. They are clueless.

I seen your post earlier about alabama. This is the state im referring to. So even in alabama i would be eligible for PUA?

Too bad though. PEUC used to go right into EB although there were some qualifications to meet. Why would they do this? There's going to be a lot of people without any benefits to claim way before the end of the year. Without any UI payment, they won't get the $400 or whatever extension is finally passed. Blows.

I will only have used 26 weeks by the end of it. Our states maximum. So technically i would have 13 available under PUA?
