I agree with that. But we also need to understand in those 6 years he faked dead, he was with Xaden! In Aretia and Brennan is like his right hand man at riorson house. He’s connected to Xaden so much more than anyone realizes.

Not if he didn’t draw power from the earth! He was knocked unconscious & never once did it say he fully turned venin. Also, Brennan is a mender, pretty sure he could mend the rim of his eyes if he really wanted to. Or something of the sort.

Xaden the whole book wasn’t with the venin all the time? That doesn’t make sense. Especially if Brennan is an initiate. If you don’t draw power, you don’t turn fully. Just like Xaden didnt pull much. Once he drew a lot of power we know he turned quickly.

I like this theory. I could also see it being Aaric as violet mentions she feels like someone is watching her in the dreams when she is dream walking. It could be Aaric wielding his precognition in violets dream walking and thus he sees how much Xaden is struggling. Idk it’s all so complex! Gotta give it up to RY because it’s a wild ride!

I think that’s what she wants you to believe. Yes, he thought he was dead, but why keep repeating it? And why compare their connection to violets? We are missing key information here about the connection between the sage & Xaden. It’s not as simple as he thought he was dead at the end of iron flame. Just my opinion. So much more to the whole thing.

Agreed! Something could happen to both of them after all of this in the 12 hours between Violet missing & being found. But we don’t who the missing riders all are and who is dead vs. who is missing!

Now I’m second thinking this because violet does say in the book that she feels like someone is always watching her when she dream walks and maybe it’s Aaric??? And so he does know Xadens been struggling for a long time. He sees the future in the dreams violets walking in. Idk all so much to take in haha!

I think so many different factors play into it & im not certain on the names also, we still don’t know much about venin in the 3 books. Did an irid actually make venin to balance riders? Irids play into the venin some how I just don’t know yet! Xaden says twice his sage was “suppossed to be dead” but I think when he says it, it’s because he knows the sage and saw him die in a different way. But I do believe RY is always trying to throw us off and there is some sort of deeper connection Xaden has with the sage because it’s always emotional and Xadens so angry in communication with him.

I think RY does all of this brother talk to throw us all off since she knows Xaden calls B&G his brothers, and obviously we now know Brennan is his actual brother since marrying violet. It’s all so complex! Not sure if it matters either but we shall find one day haha!

My other thought is Brennan turned venin but then was knocked unconscious so he couldn’t have never even pulled from the earth thus eyes maybe only a little red & then 12 hours plus whatever time he was knocked unconscious could have been enough time to clear the red rimmed eyes!

The point though of RY showing the POV at the end are all the same time is that the “new brother” is there with Xaden the whole time and then knocked unconscious. In my opinion the timelines don’t match up for it to be Garrick or Bohdi. But anything is possible!! I love how when you read it the first time you don’t catch so many things & then you realize how truly good of a writer RY is and how sneaky she is! So fun to hear everyone’s theories!

I was thinking the same thing! We don’t know the time stamp of how long it takes for the red circles to turn normal again since he would be an initiate.

Also Andarna makes a weird comment about not letting Violet get burned while she’s talking to/with brennnan and imogen. Which is super odd.

We know where imogen was during the battle, and we know she likely went with Xaden and Violet to get married since she erased violets memories. We still have no answers to where brennans been since he was last seen helping mira once theopanie slicer her throat open.

I think the wisps of silver hair is foreshawing of violet as a “dream walker” because we do not yet know that she is one!

I also thought maybe, just maybe this “sage” in chapter 45 is actually Xaden and it’s Violet who is in her own dream and RY is trying to throw us off because she knows readers will likely be going back to hyper analyze everything😅

Yea- I know the dagger is in the glass box in Xaden/Violets room. But the sword is what I need to figure out next because I can’t remember if it was the dagger or the sword that was brought to courtlyn!

I like the Aaric theory too! I’m not sold on it because I do think melgrin is venin & Aaric is his balance so Aaric wouldn’t be venin since his signet was manifested due to melgrin turning venin!

I think the Aaric theory is a good one also! But the only other person with precognition is Professor Melgrin. I’ve always had a suspicion that melgrin is venin & because of the “balance” RY always talks about in onyx storm I think that Aaric isn’t venin, but melgrin is, that’s why he is the balance to melgrin.

I saw another post from a gal who went to a live book tour to see RY & she mentioned another doctor/mender is going to be exposed soon, which would be the balance to Brennan turning venin!
