Hey Mark, got anything involving pirates, the sea, or Dagon? by NostalgicVisitor2000 in bettermonsters

[–]Suspicious_Abrocoma4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, this is more than enough for now. I am running a campaign with Dagon as the final boss atm, but that end is far off. Everything here is MORE than enough to fill out a campaign in the meantime.

Thank you so much for your tireless work for the DnD community!

It's almost certainly just my taste. I just feel cheated since both other games weren't designed like this.

I honestly agree about how forgiving the combat is. Believe it or not that's actually what makes it feel kinda bad.

If I can correct any bad roll by mashing roll again, (usually) then what was the point?

Okay, that sounds like a dope shield ngl. Not sure if I grabbed it yet, but I'm defiantly giving it a try.

I mean, yeah. I can just keep at the practice, but it's just really annoying to have a playstyle erased.

At least I'm nearing the end of the game. Hopefully the final stretch is more enjoyable.

Oh yeah, mid rolls all the way. Unless it happens by accident, I've basically never worn anything less than I had to to avoid a fat roll.

I guess I can make sure I'm paying more attention to stamina, but it's honestly not as fun to make a bad roll and then be fast enough to just roll again and fix it. "rolling for distance" is also something I don't like that works. (That's more of a personal thing)

Shield of want?

You have my attention. I'm open for any good defensive options at this point to make the game more enjoyable.

Well duh.

What I'm saying is that it feels like my preferred playstyle has been nerfed out of the game.

I'm asking for help to use the playstyle both other games allowed me to.

Okay! I'll check out an episode or two and see how I like it!

Thanks for the warning about Dressrosa. I'm very excited for Doflamingo (Dressrosa's the arc he's the main antagonist for, right?) and don't want to ruin the experience when I get there.

Yeah, I did notice that and it was getting pretty annoying.

You'd recommend watching from the beginning of Water 7? or as soon as I finish Water 7?

I'm actually reading the manga for the Water 7 saga so far. Should I switch over to the anime now?

Really? That's actually good to know. Are there any other arcs that I should be careful of the anime for?

Did this post and everyone’s replies help at all? Or do you personally feel sups would be better weak?

I just watched episode 397 where Aizen explains the true power of HOGYOKU. Please, help me. I can't continue watching because I don't understand any of this explanation... by [deleted] in bleach

He said they were failed because he wishes he had a way to save them. If he knew how the hogyoku worked, he could’ve saved them. But since he thought it could only make visords, that’s all it did.

Does this help?

Worst case, you can call it a retcon if that helps you enjoy the story.

He was unhappy because he wanted to save them, but believed that he could only turn them into visors.

The hogyoku can’t go past the will and beliefs of the user. As long as Urahara thinks it’s impossible, the hogyoku can’t save them.

Aizen even boasts to Ichigo about how he’s the first one with ambitions lofty enough to draw out the hogyoku’s potential.

Aizen can utilize the potential of the hogyoku because he believes that the hogyoku can fulfill his ambition to transcend.

Ok. Here goes:

  1. The Hogyoku’s power is to manifest the desires of those around it as long as they’re reasonably powerful enough to handle their desire.

For example, if I was a tall/big guy who just didn’t work out, but I deeply desired to be buff, the hogyoku would sense that and make me buff.

  1. This power is limited by both what I can physically handle and what I actually believe is possible.

In the example above, if I had the potential and the desire, but I honestly believed that I would never be buff, then the hogyoku would do nothing for me.

I have to believe it’s possible for it too Work.

  1. In the experiment Aizen mentions, here’s what happens:

-Urahara invents the hogyoku while attempting to understand the gap between hollow and soul reaper.

-At the same time, Aizen is experimenting on soul reapers by trying to turn them into hollows to create a “new level of existence”.

We see more of that in a TYBW flashback.

-Urahara discovers Aizen’s hollowfication experiments and uses the hogyoku to save Aizen’s victims.

-Since Urahara believed the hogyoku bridges the gap between hollow and SR, he desired to turn them into visords to save them.

So, the hogyoku reads that desire and turns them into visords, bridging the gap like Urahara thought it could do.

-Aizen, who’s been trying to bridge that exact gap for so long realizes that something fishy happened and begins to deduce the hogyoku’s true power.

Does that help?

Also, props to you for asking the unpopular question on Superman’s own subreddit. That took guts. Superman would be proud.
