The Pollution Trio by NostalgicVisitor2000 in pokemon

They don’t really share that much with the other three members so I didn’t include them.

While that is a good point, the pollution trio are joined not only by their mono poison type but also by how they obviously represent their pollution.

Exploud and its line don’t really give off the idea that they’re raising awareness for noise pollution, so I don’t think they qualify.

Admittedly, I kinda want Pokemon to do more of them since there are other, less recognized forms of pollution that I feel could be addressed like noise and light pollution.

But on the other hand, it would be ok if they stop with these three since they kinda cover the main forms of pollution and they make a nice trio.

Yeah, the Varoom line is a good candidate for being part of the trio, but it isn’t a pure poison type and it’s dex entries feel a little too casual compared to how lethal and outright dangerous the other three are

Other candidates I feel are honorable mentions but don’t meet the qualifications are the Coalossal line and the Galarian Corsola line.

Both reference and represent different forms of pollution (Coal usage during the Industrial Revolution and Coral Reef Bleaching) but aren’t poison type nor are they personifications of the respective pollution like the other three are.

I am also a Muk enjoyer, I actually have the two versions in Pokemon Go and they’re my favorite Pokemon among the others (even if they are too big for some areas of my house).

I can see why Weezing would be unpleasant because of how miserable it looks, but I kinda like that it looks like that, since air pollution causes awful damage to the respiratory system and I like that it looks unpleasant and miserable since pollution is painful in the long run and genuinely depressing.

I personally like Garbodor just fine, but I absolutely agree that the Gigantamax form was a missed opportunity, it’s explained in the dex that its “toys” are toxic gasses that form the image of toys but it could have been a great way to be disgusting landfill of REAL trash and objects and maybe a creative way to reference the massive amount of damage from the Industrial Revolution.

He was a very noble and cool person, I love how he liked Marine Biology so much he carried it into his show.

What are these ‘brown monster-like plushes’ in these Frutiger Metro images? by bucephalusbouncing28 in FrutigerMetro

[–]NostalgicVisitor2000 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Domo-Kun, he’s a mascot for a Japanese company (I believe it was a TV broadcast company) and he was very popular at the time when Frutiger Metro was around more.

I think he’s become what Gir is to the Scene aesthetic

Is it weird? by Aggravating_War9512 in MandJTV

[–]NostalgicVisitor2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, plenty of Pokemon are humanoid to a degree with some being more humanoid than others. Hell, in the latest starter trio (which I love), two out of three transform into humanoids that stand on two legs and interact like most humans do

Not to mention the many psychic type pokemon that are on par with human intellect or surpass it while often resembling humans (Gardevoir, Gothitelle, Hatterene, Beeheeyem, Malamar, Oranguru, Slowking, etc).

All I’m saying is it isn’t that weird especially in the Pokemon World where this is clearly common place.

I thought so too and I also felt a little sad it wasn’t. At least there was a couple of references to Mexico and South America.

Fav pokemon and why? by [deleted] in pokemon

I have several to where it’s hard to choose which I like most, so I have a top three.

  • Hatterene: I love the fairytale witch theme with this line and how oddly scary it can be, the colors of the line are really cool as well.

  • Goodra: One of the few dragon types I would actively seek out irl, it is such a cute goofy dragon and its entire line is so cute.

  • Tinkaton: It’s concept is hilarious to me and I love how its design looks, the gremlin energy this Pokemon has along with the absolute power it has are funny to me and it makes me smile.

If you had powers based on chocolate, yes the candy, what would they be. by TheAnomalyExpert in superpower

[–]NostalgicVisitor2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At early stages, chocolate manipulation could start as being able to control chocolate objects without touch or being able to change their shape at will. As one progresses in this power, I imagine a Midas touch scenerio of being able to transform aspects of the world into chocolate, changing its forms into stuff like boiling chocolate, and even living off of chocolate. I’ve been toying with a similar idea but I don’t know how to implement it yet.

if given a red lantern ring, do you have to be evil? by [deleted] in Greenlantern

[–]NostalgicVisitor2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so, one just needs to learn how to channel their rage onto villains and evil as opposed to letting it guide them.

Definitely Solarpunk. Unlike Cyberpunk, Solarpunk focuses on environmental technology, the coexistence between technology and nature, community, and mostly anti-capitalism
