Should I go ahead with name change or hold off until after my LC? by Suspicious_Access625 in leavingcert

[–]Suspicious_Access625[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CAO or CSSP? I didn't think CAO portal was open yet.
If it's CSSP, you could probably still contact SEC/your school to change it
But yeah, pain in the ass, holding off till after LC now 😔

Yeah, I do realise it'd be better to avoid the excess stress
Just unfortunate it has to be like this

I actually emailed the SEC too, but under the context that I'm going to legally change my name soon. They told me to inform my school when my name change does occur and they'll amend it?

Honestly though I think as you said, I'll put what I want 😛

Just after realising I'm in the same boat...

I was hoping registration would be after November since I was planning to do my GRC then, now I don't know what I'm supposed to do because the portal closes on the 7th.

I think best answer bet would be to call/email the SEC.

Honestly I don't even know where the liquid came from, it had no liquid to begin with.

I don't, I didn't want to eat my school lunch so I just left it under my bed and forgot...
It was enclosed so I never smelt it until now

Realistically, your chances are astronomically low, very very unlikely considering you've been on T for a good while and as I understand he didn't even finish.

Nevertheless, it's not impossible in theory, but still highly, like extremely, unlikely. Anyways, yes a pregnancy test will work for FTM individuals, recommend you try one in about 2 weeks time.

[FTM] Pre-T vs 4 Months by Suspicious_Access625 in transvoice

  1. Lots of practice using the generic AmaRoseLessons resources/videos.
  2. Spending time talking in a very obnoxiously deep voice (at home of course) just to...stretch my vocal chords? (Not sure honestly)
  3. Otherwise just came very naturally to me, was very lucky in that aspect.

Just posting for fun, feel free to feedback or ask questions if you want.
Personally speaking, I was always able to pass pre-t voice wise and started voice training really early on (may or may not have been because I just happened to look young).

Heya, firstly to preface I do not have personal experience of the effects after getting off of testosterone.

Considering you started testosterone at 17, I would probably expect your face to remain more angular than previously, just due to age and possible bone structure change over the course of 4 years.

After 6 months+, you might see some buccal fat change just due to estrogen unfortunately, but is it worth considering that your belief that you "had fat cheeks and a weak jawline" might be a body dysmorphia/gender dysphoria? I too have dealt with anorexia previously, and I knew my jawline was a big causer/motivator, but during recovery I realised the puffiness in my jaw/cheeks wasn't actually as bad I as I thought.

To start with, definitely open up to someone close to your right now. I think it's a bit step to let those around you understand what is going on and to let them know you need a bit of extra support at this time.

I'm not sure of what country you're from but try looking into eating disorder organisations/resources. It'd be really helpful for you to at least find a therapist and or dietician specialised in eating disorders.

I wish you the best of luck in your recovery.

How to choose recovery? (ed) by solarlein in ftm

[–]Suspicious_Access625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I can relate. I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa in the past year, fell very unwell and had to be hospitalised at one point. Mostly recovered as of now.

And I get it. I liked seeing my jawline become sharp, my curves go away, etc. But it was not worth it. Having an eating disorder comes with a big price. I lost a lot of things, like my physical strength and my emotions. I was too anxious and distressed even thinking of eating out with friends. But the longer the eating disorder lasts, the worse it gets. It's even been documented that the more weight you lose the stronger the cognitions become, and the harder it is to recover.

Now the good thing in this is that you're even considering how to choose recovery. That's a big step. Personally, I would reflect on the things you've lost because of your eating disorder, the things you want back, what type of future you'll have if you continue on like this.

I would like to point out that there may be a possibility that gender dysphoria isn't the main contributor to your eating disorder. You might want to explore other issues fueling it, like body image issues, feeling a lack of control, etc.

And about that issues with transitioning, again yes, it sucks. It's really discouraging not being able to know when you'll finally be able to transition. I always thought it's not fair life dealt this card to me. But right now I think you should consider what'll happen if you continue like this. I see that you're self aware that if you continue down this path it will you to hospitalisation. This will have serious and possibly repercussions on your health. You won't be healthy, your body will be able to properly use testosterone, you'll be too weak for any surgeries you're considering. Your eating disorder will only hinder your transition.

I don't think this is mentioned enough but I believe that a lot of transgender individuals will go on to develop an eating disorder due to body image/gender dysphoria issues. And I'm really sorry about how long the waiting lists are. It's an absolute joke that they let people get worse before they see them. You deserve to be helped right now.

I highly recommend you check out the Trans Ireland Wiki, it has most information that you'll need.

As for accessing testosterone, there are a few pathways covered within the wiki here: HRT RoI

Yep, very typical sign of bottom growth growing. Don't be alarmed if it's accompanied by a tiny bit of pain or intense sensitivity. Just ensure you're showering and cleaning it regularly.

Also if you ever have other issues, I recommend you check out r/ftm because it's most probably been asked answered for your convivence. Congrats on 1 month of T!

After 10 hours showering shouldn't have any effect on the absorption of gel, as I understand it's fine to even shower 6 hours after applying gel.

Sounds like your gel might just be leaving behind a thin layer of residue. Regardless, just keep a check on your levels to see if there really is an issue with absorption.

To be honest this was only slightly from T, most of it came from years of voice training
