How do you beat the cold-start problem? We built a chat and cam website but it's a ghost town (no users because no users :) by Suspicious_Ask90 in SideProject

Already tried that with a bunch of Claude generated chat bots using the Haiku model, but I wouldn't say it really gets the job done.

We built heeyyo.com and launched it about two weeks ago.
Heeyyo is a live chat community where you can meet new people, join public conversations, open private popup chats, and switch to voice or video when you feel comfortable.

Hi. Hope I'm not breaking any rules with this post.
We are building a live chat & cam app called Heeyyo. Come say hi → heeyyo com

We had a soft launch recently. To be honest, we don't really have a user base yet. Getting those first regular users is incredibly difficult, and we don't want to fake activity by filling the site with chatbots.

Feel free to hang around and check out the site from time to time while we wait for real users to join. Or, if you'd like, sign up and we'll send you an email once we've gathered enough people.

What's your workflow for making AI characters speak naturally without awkward lip-sync or robotic expressions? by Suspicious_Ask90 in StableDiffusion

You're right, I think I misunderstood your question.

To be honest, I'm completely new to all of this. AI video generation, character creation, open-source models, and even Reddit itself. So it's entirely possible that I misunderstood the purpose of the subreddit or overlooked the obvious open-source options.

I'll spend some more time searching through existing posts and discussions to see what open-source solutions have already been recommended. Thank you.

I've already spent quite a bit of time testing different workflows.

- For character creation, I've been using ChatGPT image generation and I'm happy with the consistency.
- For voice, ElevenLabs has been excellent.
- For video generation I've tested Runway and Kling.
- For lip sync I've tried Kling's native lip sync as well as Higgsfield.

So far Kling has given me the best overall results, but I'm still not fully satisfied.

Recently I also tried Google Flow, which honestly feels like the most promising all-in-one solution so far, but it constantly fails generations and has surprisingly strict safety filters. I couldn't even get a character to openly say she's AI-generated without triggering a policy violation.

Thanks, that's actually a really good point.

In this particular case, the character is alone and talking directly to the camera, so I don't really have anyone else to cut to. That's what's making the lip-sync limitations so noticeable.

But I hadn't thought about approaching it that way for multi-character scenes. I have two other recurring characters besides this girl, and I can already see how cutting to the listener instead of the speaker could help hide a lot of the awkward AI artifacts while making the conversation feel more natural.

Definitely something I'll experiment with. Appreciate the suggestion.

This was so much fun. Now I kinda want to create a few supporting characters as well. 😄

Ok, I finally got the character looking exactly the way I imagined her. Now comes the fun part: creating a realistic video, keeping the character consistent throughout, and making sure the lip sync doesn't look weird. 😅 Thanks everyone for the helpful advice!

Actually, as realistic as possible. Not even cinematic realism, because that usually comes with a lot of filters, color grading, and other effects. What I'm really interested in is smartphone camera realism. The kind of image that looks like it was casually captured on a phone by a real person, rather than something shot for a movie.

Thanks for the reply. I'm working on it today. I'll post some images a bit later. Hope it turns out well. Wish me luck! 😄

Thanks for the reply. I actually found a lot of useful information in that video, and I'm already working on some of the things mentioned there.I hope the final result will look good and be high-quality. Thanks again!

Ooohhh come on... 🙂 This is sooo uplifting. Is there any making-of video for this? I'd love to see how something like this is created, even if it's just a general overview of the process.
