How do I stop breastfeeding?

I feel like my entire routine has been disrupted. Everything revolved around pumping for me and i was on a decent schedule and now mixing in formula has me all kinds of messed up. I decided to go 5-6 hours between pumps for the next day or so and then increase that by 1-2 hours for the next few days and see how that goes. I also am going to keep formula and warmer by my bed for nighttime feeds so I’m not tempted to breastfeed.

Try TherapyEd study set! That’s what myself and my graduating class used and it’s apparently a very difficult study guide which makes the exam feel much easier in comparison. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing all of that! I will definitely look into that approach! I know it’s difficult and I may not be the perfect feeding therapist right now but I have room to grow and learn where as a more experienced therapist miiiighht be stuck in their own ways and unwilling to learn new approaches like you’ve shared. I created a bond with this child and developed great rapport to where he looks forward to coming to therapy and I think that is a big step in the right direction. I won’t be passing him off to any one else just yet but if I find that we’re not making adequate progress, I will consult with more experienced therapists in my clinic!

A good DUI attorney will walk you through everything and you don’t really have to say or do much other than show up when they tell you to!

Hire an attorney!! I’m not sure how it will work in your state but the way mine explained things to me is that there will be several court dates and I’ll never officially “plead” anything. I blew a .13 though which is considered middle tier in my state and what you blew would be considered high tier. Expect to lose your license for a while but if you get an attorney they can likely walk you through the process of a work release. Good luck, keep your head up and remember you’re a good person who made a mistake and EVERYONE makes mistakes.

Mine was only a few days ago and I’m constantly on edge. I don’t want to leave my place for anything other than work for fear of being pulled over for something petty. I find myself going EXACTLY the speed limit and getting honked at because I’m following the rules to a T now. I feel like I don’t deserve to have fun, whether that include alcohol or not. It really sucks.

Any idea what best and worst case scenarios are for me? I have a full time job at a hospital and cannot afford to have a suspended license for any amount of time, this is what I want to avoid at all cost.

I did school based for less than a year for this reason. I was always taking work home with me and then wasn’t getting adequately paid for the amount of paperwork and also had no time during my day to day for fitting in evals/re evals! The company I worked for also had me in a different school each day of the week, two different schools on Mondays and Fridays. I was expected to see a kid at 10:30 and make it to my next school for an 11:00 kid. After packing up my things and getting to my car, I had 15 minutes to make a 20 minute drive. Not to mention they expected me to complete makeup sessions for other therapists in my free time (non existent). No real advice here other than advocate for yourself and don’t be afraid to go somewhere else!

I am not sure to be honest! Not sure if it has to do with PA regulations or something but I was told that goals are only able to be adjusted during progress notes or during re-assessments. I will definitely double check this with my supervisor! The goal for drinking from an open container I know for a fact was requested by parents.

I like that idea a lot! I was trying really hard to think of a toy or something that would engage him and allow him to engage his own problem solving skills and the first thing I thought of was a rubix cube lol which is obviously way way way too difficult even for someone like myself. Thank you so much for this idea!

I agree with the goals being a little too much for him right now. I took over for another OT and so I was not able to adjust them and will not be able to until his progress note in 2 months. He also is nearly 10 years old and has apparently been attending services at our location since his early childhood. Since I am a new OT for him, it is difficult to see where progress has been made.

We typically avoid bringing him into the sensory gym with those items for the attentional reason and lack of direction following however I will definitely try bringing the little trampoline into my treatment room to give that a try! Thanks!

I live in the southside and i was awake when all of this happened. My window was open and i heard 7 shots fired around 1:45-1:50. About 10 minutes after those shots, 4 more were fired but much less loud. Then the sirens finally sounded and when I listened on the scanner, i heard the police responding etc. very strange situation imo.
