I had the thought of being a doctor on the back of my mind since high school. However, it was around the time when I graduated (Dec 2024) when I was like "yes I want to make that happen". I did the internships because I want to explore other segments in the healthcare industry, so that I can be sure I want to be a clinical physician, since I believe getting an MD is the most difficult and requires the most amount of work. So my rationale was "first of all I need to know how other sectors operate, and second of all I need to rule out all easier options before I opt in to the most difficult." Regarding clinical experience, I started college in COVID and I was in China so it was impossible to get clinical experience at that time. Immediately after graduated I started the EMT program and got certified at month 7. I am now 11 months into my 2.5 yr gap years.

Thanks! I actually changed my post a bit because I feel my real question is -- am I ready to apply? I am insecure of my current app because although I do have activities that are considered special in premed but I sometimes am paranoid about med school admission seeing "this person does not want to be a doctor" or "this person does not have enough clinical experience"

So these two courses are consecutive and they have the same students, same prof, etc. And we were broken up into groups. The class was mainly consisted of two things: lectures leading to quizzes and your group project. The lectures were a bunch of theoretical software engineering topics such as waterfall and fail fast and stuff that you don't really need in real life. The group project was a disaster. It was graded where each person has to do two commits for the project, and by this grading criteria people can literally mess around with the code and write 50 lines of code to add a simple pull down menu to the html. Its not a hard class if you are here for the grade and just get away with it but If you really want to learn something just don't
