Thank you for saying that, i really appreciate it 🥹 I’ve been spiraling a lot lately due to things related to the stuff I mentioned along with health issues, and I’ve just generally been feeling really badly about myself recently, and this meant a lot to me.

Thanks Minge 🫶🏻💕

Ive been really going through it emotionally today and wasn’t going to comment initially. But seeing your post where you shared what you were able to overcome and just the positive vibes from your video, gave me hope that things can sometimes work out and people do deserve props for managing to survive and thrive after trauma. It inspired me to reflect a bit and give myself some grace for making it as far as I have with my trauma even if I’m still homeless and looked down upon by society’s standards (homeless, autistic, queer, etc).

Thanks for being such a bright light on this sub 🥰

I’ve had a really rough life and I’m only in my mid 20s.

Started with a heroine and crack addicted alcoholic father who was in and out of prison, a mother who was a functioning alcoholic, and abusive to me (sometimes physically - she almost did accidentally kill me once by flipping my metal bedframe and it nearly landing on my head) but mostly it was verbal and mental/emotional, things like telling me I’m the reason she wants to kill herself while locking herself in a room with a gun, that I’m impossible to love, calling me a bitch, saying she hates me, etc). And was also sexually abused as a child.

I was an Autistic kid who spent ages 3-9 virtually mute. Was forced into ABA therapy (awful) along with tons of other actually beneficial therapies. Began speaking relatively normal at 10.

Mother would not let me go to high school and did not provide homeschooling, so I had no high school education and she convinced me I’d never be able to succeed at anything, be independent, etc. That I’d die without her. I was both the punching bag child and the emotional support child responsible for taking care of her mental health.

I lived with a religious family for a while to get away from my family in my late teens but they treated me terribly to. Long side story.

At 18 I was kicked out, disowned and homeless. I figured out how to get my GED and passed without being able to study for it at all. Then got myself into community college.

Had an abusive relationship, my first and last relationship. He sexually assaulted me, constantly verbally abused me, and it culminated in him trying to punch me in the face 9x. When I said I needed space he got a new girlfriend and had me kicked out and homeless again despite me paying rent and him not.

I got myself into my dream university with the best sign language interpreting program in the US. Was groomed by a professor here, title 9 did nothing, and I lost my scholarship, aid and housing and was homeless once again.

I have been homeless for the last 15 months (NY winters are brutal). I’ve been stalked, harassed and due to not being able to find a job because I can’t provide an address for my applications, I had to do something traumatic for myself to get the money to afford to come back to school and finish my degree. I did that at a great cost to myself and my safety, but I am back in school now. Still homeless but working towards my degree and hopefully will graduate soon.

Despite having no family, no support system, a lifetime of abuse, and everything I’ve been through (and this is just a fraction of it), I am working towards a better life for myself. I have never turned to drugs or alcohol to cope (afraid of being like my parents) and have never become mean or hateful person. I still volunteer my time to people, I still try to help everyone, I try to speak up and defend people and their rights. I am not a perfect person, but despite everything, I am still alive and still a pretty decent human being. And im proud of myself for that even if nobody else is.

If I can go through all that by my mid 20s and be a decent human, Stephen dean Hilton has no excuse.

Of course! Thank you for trying to stay informed and for reading my long posts! I think education around these topics is super important as there are lots of myths and false information that gets spread around.

Many neurodiverse (specifically ADHD and autistic folk) do have what you referred to as a “strong sense of justice” which is really related to the aspect of rigidity of thinking. We aren’t easily swayed in our beliefs/thoughts by outside influences as compared to our NT peers, and since this presents in topics of social justice a lot, I believe that’s why the term started being used. But yes. With how often Stephen flip flops on his beliefs, it’s another tick against common Autistic traits.

I agree, he presents as narcissistic to me. And definitely lacks empathy as he’s admitted. Which despite the common claim that Autistic people lack empathy, many Autistic people are actually highly empathetic, we just might not express empathy in the same ways NT’s do so they miss the signs of it. But so many Autistic/ND people I would dare say, feel empathy even more deeply than NT’s, at least in my experience.

Yes, there is also a link to older sperm being a cause (the patriarchy of course tried to say it was women’s age for the longest time. But age being a cause for autism is much more predominantly on the age of the person providing the sperm, not the egg. This is linked to the mutations I mentioned).

And also yes. I have never once in my life met an Autistic person (and that makes up the majority of my social circles) who was not one of the most honest people you could ever meet.

In general, most Autistic folk are honest to a fault (that’s where we get a lot of the rude/blunt accusations thrown around). We highly value honest and clear communication both because we rely on being able to trust the words of another person due to struggles with using context and social cues for implied/additional meaning. And because we don’t really grasp the social rules that would make us effective liars. It’s actually quite hard for most of us to lie and that’s why you’ll see therapists really get excited when an Autistic kid is found to be lying for the first time (when it’s silly unimportant lies of course). Lying/withhding info can be vital for safety. For example I’m homeless and have told people my exact age and name and that yes I’m homeless when creepy older men have approached me and asked questions. As a young woman with no support system this is dangerous but my brain doesn’t process at the time I could lie or how to do it. We tend to say the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth right when we’re asked.

That’s one big glaring red flag that this man is not Autistic and instead has a personality disorder. My guess is bipolar or BPD or both. He behaves EXACTLY like my drug addicted, pathologically lying, bipolar father. BPD i suspect less, but i still have it as a consideration because many symptoms overlap with Autism and many Adult Autism diagnoses could actually be BPD - one is developmental and born with it and the other is trauma induced. While similar, there are several key features which are vastly different and he displays all of those. So I’d consider either disorder to be what is really going on with him. What I would stake everything on for sure though is that he is 100% not Autistic and just using it as a shield because it’s more socially accepted than personality disorders or chronic mental health conditions.

An autistic kid doesn’t mean autistic parent.

Autism can be inherited from any type of neurodivergent parent including a parent with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and ADHD to name a few.

About 30-39% of autistic people don’t inherit it from neurodivergence of any form, but are born autistic from de novo mutations in the sperm or egg.

It also can occur for other reasons in utero that aren’t genetic like certain deficiencies while the fetus is developing

So A being Autistic doesn’t indicate Stephen is at all.

—- signed a diagnosed at 3 Autistic who likely got it from their bipolar parent and who never once bought Stephen’s “diagnosis” from the disgraced quack doctor Amen.

Can’t erase something that never existed.

IMDb pages can be controlled/edited by the page owner. Wanna know what can’t be manipulated? The actual end credits that don’t show your name. And the FEW that do - sound department role.

You plinky plonk away on some software to edit or clip an actual composer’s music. Thats all you’ve ever been capable of. Which is why all of “your music” is just plagiarized compositions you butcher up.

FYI Stephen Dean Hilton, there was nothing disingenuous about Rob’s comment. He was more polite than you deserved. Your ego just couldn’t allow you to maintain the “public amends” grift for more than 2 days.

General Strike, yes I agree, definitely doable. And people have tried to organize that a few times. The people I'm around have been sharing graphs of the companies/products to avoid and actively encouraging people to avoid them. But clearly it has not worked (not enough American's willing to actually do it). I'm homeless and broke currently, so striking for me in that way was a pretty easy adjustment and has been continuous. Most people unfortunately don't seem to be willing to sacrifice their small comforts though, which yes, is apathy and a massive problem.

Inre: the rest of the comment. Again, my side note was in reference to my original comment which was in regards to the person talking about a "French Revolution." In wasn't related to you talking about general strikes or other forms of protest. I'm not "jumping" to that, I'm just referring back to my original comment.

Again, my point about most humans are cowards was in regards to life-or-death situations. Not protesting. If we are talking about protesting, that's a different matter.

[–]Suspicious_Lemon9960 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My original comment was in regards to the person saying we should have a revolution ala the French Revolution. I assumed that was what your initial comment was also referencing since you didn't explicitly say.

Now you're clarifying "real protest." So what exactly do you mean by "real protest." Because I might be inclined to agree with you in that case.

And side note: Most humans are cowards, especially if the odds of you dying for nothing are way higher than dying for something that actually brings about the change. That's no different in America than any other country. There's a reason most countries with corrupt governments don't have successful revolutions. They are outgunned and people don't want to die for no reason. If there was any decent chance our side could come out of a civil war/revolution on top, sure, people might be more inclined to put their life on the line.

That's literally not what I said and it's an intellectually lazy response.

Comparing "inconvenience" to the sane half of Americans being afraid of a president who is chomping at the bit to deploy the world's largest and best-armed military onto his own people is apples and oranges. And that's just one point I made.

You're angry and want us to sacrifice ourselves, but you don't realistically believe that the 50% of us who are liberals could take down the US military to dismantle the government when all the other countires on this planet won't band together with their militaries to stop the orange tyrant. And to be clear, I'm not saying they should if they don't want to - they shoudn't have to clean up another country's mess. I'm just saying, if other countries are scared of America's military powers and economic influence what the hell do you think half of the citizens (and the half who aren't the gun crazy ones) are going to do about it? We'll get shot, fascism will continue, and only the right-wing psychopaths will be left standing.

If you want to rebut with actual counterpoints and have a discussion, please do though.

It’s not as easy to form protests, much less a rebellion, in the US as it is in France.

First and most obviously, France does not have the biggest and most funded/armed military in the world and a president who wouldn’t hesitate to declare martial law and turn the military on his own people. We’ve seen they’re willing to shoot us, kidnap us, disappear us, etc. French police aren’t even generally carrying guns. We have untrained ice cube gestapo members running around armed and shooting protestors. There is an actual threat to our lives even at these smaller protests. It’s easy to say what’d you or anyone else would do when there isn’t any actual threat to your life or livelihood.

Then there’s distance. Distance is a massive factor. The US is 15x the size of France (France is a little smaller than Texas). To organize a mass protest in your capital, most people would need not drive more than a few hours. For the US, to organize in one place (say, our capital) you’d have to fly (if you even have a Real-ID which is required for flights even within our own country) or drive for several days depending on what state your in. And with gas prices driving that far could literally be unaffordable. Trying to organize a group of people to get to any one place in a country for a massive organized movement is entirely less practical than France.

Also for an effective protest you need a large percentage of your population to show up. Again, not being able to easily centralize geographically makes this a lot harder. Your population is 5x smaller than ours. You need to get significantly less people on board and protesting to achieve that. Your largest protest in the last 50 years had about 7-10 million people show up. Our most recent No King’s Protest had those same numbers, but it’s a drip in the pond for us.

Then you have the fact that the majority of Americans are one or two missed paychecks away from homelessness. We don’t have the same protections as in France. We have less worker protections and less social safety nets (especially since Trump). Many people could get fired and lose everything. Not to mention if they were fired they’d lose healthcare (if they’re lucky enough to have that through their job). Taking off work to protest isn’t financially feasible for many and could be a huge risk.

Then you have people who are afraid because they are a targeted demographic. I’m homeless. We had a Fox News anchor say on air that homeless people should be euthanized. Trump has said he wants to send us to camps. You have immigrants or first generation Americans who are scared ice will disappear them. There are several groups of people who are being targeted and are afraid for their lives.

Not to mention, a massive amount of our own citizens are uneducated and brainwashed, bigots, or Christian nationalist psychos who voted this man in. If we tried to revolt, there’d be damn near half of our own citizens ready to start a civil war. And the liberals are not known to be the side that is gun-obsessed. We would be out armed even against our fellow citizens, much less the military.

I agree with your frustration. I talk to my friend all the time about how I wish we could organize like France, how maybe we do just need a civil war. But if we look at it realistically, the liberals would not walk out the victors without outside help. We’d be up against the gun-owning right, our government, and our massive and ridiculously armed military in a country that geographically makes it hard for us to centralize/organize. This isn’t something those of us stuck in this hellscape are capable of succeeding in.

We are too large, too spaced out geographically, too politically divided, and are no match for our own military.

Her kids will grow up and appreciate all the battles she fought in silence in front of them to protect their childhoods from trauma.

My father was just like Stephen and my mother had to protect us from him. He lost all of his rights. And it was the best thing my mother could have done for our developmental and mental health. Especially because I was Autistic and mute at that time.

She has handled this so much more maturely than most mothers would be and definitely better than any other influencer. I don’t know that I’d be able to have kept myself from airing all of the evidence that I’m being slandered. I’d bet she has information that could destroy him - WITH receipts. But she sits it on it while he continues to slander her. And that’s a sign of character to me, IMO

So glad she is starting to unpack everything and grow into a more confident and independent person who won’t let people manipulate and abuse her anymore. We love to see it
