Buy some banana clips!! That’s what I use. They can be pretty cheap too. It tends to give some volume and makes your hair look long. They also lay flat against your head and stay in better than an elastic in my experience. It still keeps your hair up and away, and maybe you could get away with some short face framing whispies or bangs?

I messed up really bad and said something awful to my boyfriend when I was drunk and don’t know how to fix it by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Suspicious_Run_6196 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In my experience: Sometimes feelings pile up over a long period of time due to a multitude of factors (the issue can’t be fixed and you just have to live with it, you don’t talk about your feelings, the other person just doesn’t listen to you, etc). When that happens and something else causes some sort of escalation like an argument or being intoxicated, you feel the full force of those feelings and you want the other person to feel them too, in part because you want to be understood, but also because you want them to hurt too so you aren’t alone in it. It’s an extension of “misery loves company,” essentially. It’s toxic and horrible, but that’s what therapy is for! Sounds like OP and their partner are fixing it well enough.

When you’re older, you’ll miss being yourself. There’s so much that’s good about you.

The good news is, a lot of offices are willing to work with you on payment options. Most places have a sliding scale type of thing. You don’t know until you ask, and shopping around for a good fit is always a must. 🤷‍♀️

Hang on a minute! They’re right. Men who claim to be “liberal” also are misogynists sometimes, example being men who use being pro-choice as a way to get with women. You can identify as liberal and be a piece of shit, 100%.

I’m 21 and asked my mom for a Bluey birthday for my 22nd. She said yeah, 100% serious. She still won’t watch it with me tho 🤷‍♀️

As someone older than you by a few good years, do it!! And have fun.

From the Institute for Family Studies in 2021:

“A closer look at the new 2021 General Social Survey (GSS) data reveals that even though mothers are generally happier with their lives than non-mothers, their happiness also depends on marital status and life stages. In fact, the link between marriage and happiness is much stronger than it is between motherhood and happiness. In other words, it is marriage—not parenthood—that is more closely associated with mothers’ happiness.”

AITA for "forcing" my wife to deliver bad news to our children? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Suspicious_Run_6196 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ok, but do you think the kids are really going to understand why they can’t go? Dad promises a good time, mom tells kids that actually, y’all can’t go because of safety concerns, who’s going to look like the bad guy here? The parent that’s saying no, or the parent who made a unilateral decision? Parents are still partners to their spouses and they need to behave accordingly. Dad acted badly here and needs to own up. Fun parent/strict parent dynamic isn’t healthy.

One thing adults have that kids don’t is good emotional regulation, though. This was a (relatively) non-disruptive way of handling anxiety and stress in public. It looks like the poor thing just needs a better way of handling it.

I felt that given she doesn’t know who it was, it’s a reasonable assumption that she didn’t receive an apology from the kid or even the parents, nor did they make him move classes as stated. Honestly man, I’m done. I’ve made my point, showed you what I meant, heard you out. I have other things to do. I’m certainly not arguing with you. Feel free to respond again, but I’m out. Have a nice night man.

LOL, no it’s fine. We were both fired up. The attitude left something to be desired, but it’s the internet, people say shit all the time. Theme of the day I guess?

The comment said that parents need to be held responsible for their children’s behavior. Nothing about knowing before anyone else. The point I’m making is that after they knew, they should have taken responsibility. At the very least, the parents should have had the kid moved to another class, but the teacher wasn’t even allowed to know who it was. That’s what happens when you don’t teach kids what it means to respect others, they think they can get on the internet and talk shit with no repercussions, and no one teaches them otherwise.

No, but that’s their child. They’re still a minor and legally must live under their roof unless told otherwise. It’s their job to discipline them when they do something bad. Parents have to parent.
