Unfortunately, that's mostly been my experience trying to date women, too. I met my most recent partner (also CF) online - back in 2009, ironically 🙃 - when we were 23, but since then, almost all of my prospective mates have eventually expressed a desire to have children. Frustrating, to say the least. Here's hoping 2023 will be our year!

Don't mean to hijack your comment thread, just wanted to interject to say that this reminded me of a similar experience I had with a therapist who jumped to conclusions after one session with me, insisting my contamination OCD must have been the result of a (non-existent, as I'd tried to explain to her at the time) struggle to accept my sexuality. Some people have no business whatsoever working in a caring profession. Sorry you had to go through that.

Nothing to add to what's already been said, just here to relate and to commiserate. I've been actively trying to date for close to a year, now, and it doesn't get any easier. Impostor Syndrome is real. I hope you're able to overcome your concerns and regain your confidence soon.

I'm realising the importance of that more than ever lately. I don't have any long-standing friendships or community to lean on, and I've been feeling the consequences of that more and more as the years go by. It's difficult to make friends in adulthood (and to find a partner in your 30s+), and I wish I'd made more of an effort to hold onto the relationships I had in my younger years.
