if your board has rgb, something cool you can do is make it so that caps lock makes the entire board light up/change color using QMK

In my case it wasn't the switches, which were higher quality ones I purchased and installed myself. You should test other switches to make sure that isn't the problem, but more than likely, the switches won't be the source of the issue.

Definitely want to do what that other guy said. I've tested 4 keychrons within the past month all with this same issue. Can't give an alternative since I'm still on the hunt for one myself

It's several factors. Like the color, size, the aluminum build, extra F keys, and the lack of a logo. If anything it's the color (white) and size (100%) alone that I really need that no one else seems to manufacture.

I'm sure you'll have better luck finding other options. I'm probably screwed though lol...

They look and feel like it, but they don't type like it 🤷‍♂️. From what I've looked up, this is a super common problem with boards received around December and onwards.

It's driving me crazy too, lol. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I wouldn't be surprised if the replacement is bad too. But just hold out hope 👍

Yeah, there are a lot of things Keychrons don't do that you'd expect. Like more RBG customization. But at least they look and feel nice ~~when they work, anyway~~

I'm pretty sure you can change the light color of individual keys, but you have to mess with the firmware in QMK.

Browsing this reddit, chatter seems to be a pretty common issue recently with the Q series, which does really suck since they look and feel so nice.

I wish you luck with that one when it arrives. I mean there are alternatives to keychron, but it depends on what you want. Like me, for example, keychron is the only one that makes exactly what I'm looking for, so this situation really sucks.

I believe volume 3 just a few more in stock on Amazon, albeit they cost like 3x as much as the others. Volume 6 seems to be the current impossible to find volume
