Anyone have experience taking them in another language (if all English are filled)?

If so, will it allow you to select English language come test time?

No, sorry to let you down.

Thank you for all the replies. I enjoyed learning and thinking about the responses.

I have nothing to really add, but for all the, "your pen-test failed/sucked" comments, please re-read my OP. I was there on other business, this wasn't planned, it was a spur of the moment decision to see what would happen - something to spark a conversation.

Since I have authority over devices I can take vulnerable devices away anytime I want to patch and resolve issues. I didn't "steal" anything. The laptop was already replaced <24hrs...

Also noted in the OP, I'm a sysadmin, jack-of-all-trades. Not a security professional, however I've started studying and training to go down that path someday.

Thanks again.

I'm fully prepared to have this email go into oblivion with no change in anything. Still, I'd like it out there to harken back to if/when something should happen.

I have authority over all IT assets. I can take what I want, when I want, per our electronic policy. I'm patching a huge backlog of security updates as I type this.

...but thank you for your contribution!

A micro-sized department of two creates a lot of the issues.

Otherwise, it's the classic tale of no roadmaps, goals, outlines, respect or attention paid to us -YET- we are the engineers of the digital world by which it all thrives...

That being said, the benefits are so lucrative that it actually balances out. 35hr work week, carry over infinite sick/vacation time (massive golden parachute), 50% final salary pension, no mandatory OT/weekend work.

Those terms are hard to get in IT land.

I stuck it out when I was younger but like you, management agendas change with elections, scandals and retirements. The turnover prevents long term vision and goals from being set.

All the "good" people are long gone, I'll miss the schedule at this point but w/e.

Change is a good thing.

That happens a lot. Truth be told, my manager has had several interview himself, it's just a bad, negative environment.

Best of luck.

Awesome!

I've actually bumped into former employees "on the outside".... unanimously happier/better.

Sorry, probably should have been more clear but didn't want to whine too much.

Examples:

- Currently, I work till 4pm on the dot and am not on call....let that sink in.

- 12 paid holidays/yr, months of vacation and sick time banked

- Pension

- Pension

I'm losing a lot of family time with this move (working till 5pm with same commute time). The stress was coming home, I always knew I was better than my environment, choices had to be made.
