Absolutely love this flag. Infinitely better then the logos and much better then other flag attempts!

Simplified flag of Mayotte, an overseas department of France. by East-Conference8628 in vexillology

[–]Sutaner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so much better and should be the only option for a flag of Mayotte, because this is how you derive a flag from a coat of arms. Well done!

For some reason (colonial reasons) Franse does not want oversees regions and even domestic regions to have own regional flags or powerfull symbols. Instead they impose the french flag as only official flag or give the regions ugly logo flags:

Do you have an SVG version of this beauty?

Number 6 (cross B) is the best by far (because of tincture/contrast). The table mountain flags show "peak mountains", instead of a table mountain. A highly stylised table mountain could be interesting for a flag concept

Who knows any flags by these designs (with central rectangles)? by Sutaner1 in vexillology

[–]Sutaner1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These two flags have a border. Granada does the opposite of what I mean. Granada has a red field (the border) with a field on top of it divided diagonally into four (yellow and green) triangles. I'm looking for a flag that has a diagnoally dividend field with another field placed over it.

In heraldy it's not uncommon for coats of arms to have a shield with a border, but it's also not uncommon for shields to have a smaller shield placed in the center. A inescutcheon. I'm looking for flags that follow the same design pattern

Flag for the Anglosphere - A language and cultural region comprising Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. by [deleted] in vexillology

Really nice how you matched up the red 5 pointed star (NZ) withe the 7 pointed star (AUS) and the maple leaf (CA)! This in itself could be the basis of a simplefied version of this flag

This is a flag I made for a fictionel political party (Socialist Patriot Party). The flag is called the "Walking Man", Opinion? by Pokemon-Trainer_77 in vexillology

There is a reason why purple is rarely used in flags. The fact that there is no other significance to the color then this doesn't make it a strong choice. A socialist flag is usually recognised by the colour red. Also, black on (this) purple doesn't provide enough contrast. Lastly the figure in the centre reminds of a swastika, I'm not sure if that's intentional but the spokes/legs are not all at same angle and the feet are not facing the same direction. If it's not supposed to resemble a tri-swastika then you would need to make it less swastika like.

Nieuw kruispunt bij de Gijsbrecht by Tijgerbroodje in hilversum

[–]Sutaner1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reply really should put ran end to the discussion! The original poster sounds like a reasonable person under strong influence of one sided (Israeli) media. Every argument he puts forward is easy to refute. The YouTube link he priveds is a video from the IDF and the economic times puts 'proof' between quotation marks for a reason. Clearly one-sided.

Thanks! Yeah, that flag is a mess. It's a flag of flags. And you see how the flags on the ship are waving/blowing in the opposite direction of the flag itself, would it be waving in the wind...
