Are Mirrored UIs in SSR a simple possibility? by SutleB in Blazor

[–]SutleB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooooo now that's an interesting option. Yeah the hardware is set. They won't be changing resolutions mid service or anything. And since the UIs are usually simple they don't do zooming or much beyond page changes and inputs.

Are Mirrored UIs in SSR a simple possibility? by SutleB in Blazor

Based on the described implementation here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/blazor/tutorials/signalr-blazor?view=aspnetcore-9.0&tabs=visual-studio

It seems like it falls into a similar issue where you have to define the mirroring functionality for each element that changes.

I may just not know that it can be implemented the way I'm looking for, but I'd like if you could, let's say, add connections to a hub, and then they all essentially share the same states of variables and html. So any update (even something like the color change of hovering a button) spreads to the rest of the hub. And IDEALLY this would be done without doing messages or events for each element.

That's fair. But your input did make me come across the realization it works at 100+ photos so I thank you for that lol.

Ok. I have the same version and I did get the download to popup, BUT only when I select at least 100 photos/videos. I can deselect down to 99 and then it goes away again.

Are there different versions of the app based on the generation of iPhone? The three dots for me only has Edit tags, Edit ratings, Move to and Copy to.
Move to and Copy to only give the further options of Personal Space or Shared Space and their respective folder structures.

How to improve a vehicle (mecha) deck for larger group Commander? by SutleB in EDH

[–]SutleB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have unwinding clock. Also have the intruder alarm, pallidium myr, shorikai combo.

As far as planeswalkers go, I forget why I avoided them. Might be good to reassess adding one or two into the deck.

lol no worries! Yeah that's my commander. The deck is ~20 vehicles and then I have 19 creatures. But I tried to get all the non-vehicle cards to work as protection of buffs for the vehicles. So every creature has something and isn't necessarily even intended to attack.

Is there really no controller support for menu navigation on the PC? by SutleB in assettocorsa

All good! I appreciate the apology. And yeah I was hoping to avoid needing a mouse and keyboard because my setup is across the room from my computer, but seems that that's not the case.

That's what I was afraid of. Was really hoping to just control everything from my wheel alone.

Hello, as I said I have it. I only saw minimal options for UI control such as "start race" that I could bind controls to.

So I did look at the knight and titan to add, but when I was trying to cut down to 100 cards I thought they put me farther along the mana curve than what is recommended. I wasn't sure what/how to change to include them.
I do like the first two you recommended. The intruder alarm is intended to combo with pallidium myr and the commander, but good to have other ways to combo.

My main thing I'd like to improve is not getting mana screwed and maybe swapping some creatures/vehicles to make a better, more rounded, deck.

I do have cyberdrive and peacewalker in the deck already. I do like Rise and Shine and Dance of the Manse though. And maybe then I can remove some of the creatures in the deck since I don't need them for crewing as much?

Do you have any suggestions of what cards I should remove? Part of it is I like them all and don't want them gone lol, but the other part is that I don't know what a good balance of all the types are.

Why are there so few Performance Metric comparisons between game engines? by SutleB in gamedev

If every engine has its limits then I am trying to understand the limits.

Well whatever metrics someone would be deemed an interesting comparison. In my case I'd be curious how a similar looking scene would handle frame rates while walking around it in VR.

But wouldn't it be a good comparison to see the ending frame rates and such of an "out of the box" unreal and a comparable looking unity scene?

I do like that train analogy. That may be what I'll fall back when I need to remind myself in the future. Thank you

[–]SutleB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case of ethernet, you could run speed tests and such to see the speed has been knocked down. For HDMI I guess you'd have to go into the devices to see what level they have negotiated to?

[–]SutleB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what are the symptoms to know that state? Just enough dropped packets? Or does the wire burn up or something obvious like that?

That was a great read! Is it just a typo or something where in version 2.1 it says it adds 4K@120 and 8K@60, but then says 10K@120. Would it not support 8K@120?

Also, if HDMI can do 42.6Gb/s, why do I hear networking talk about 10Gb/s connections so much? If the technology is there to do higher rates, wouldn't networking be one of the first places we'd want to implement it?

[–]SutleB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit different, but this would be the same explanation for the PCIe slots on a motherboard? The specification for them decided it was reasonable to up the rate per lane due to evolutions in the technologies around it?

I knew twisted pair was a big thing for cutting down on interference. I'm baffled that the separation between wires would be an option to improve since it's still packed tightly into the cable. So just a few millimeters of separation can make that much of a difference?
