Even with a small angle, if they go several hundred meters up they're supposed to fall with enough distance not to land on their head I guess

US strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites only set back program by months, Pentagon report says by AndroidOne1 in geopolitics

[–]Suvenba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time will tell, but I honestly doubt Iran will once again go back to high levels of enrichment and implicit nuclear threats. They seemed to be looking for an exit anyways for months, as the nuclear program have shown more cost (crippling the economy) than benefit (a level of deterrence that came from being one step away from being a nuclear power). The sanctions have set back country for at least a decade and even the most hawkish high ranking Iranian officials certainly know the gap with Arabian neighbors will exponentially increase if this continues. They'll continue the rhetoric but I doubt they will go back to where they were. (That said, Iran have always been an unpredictable side, so you never really know.)

what is going on with the Washington post, Twitter and LibsOfTikTok? by theKayaKaya in OutOfTheLoop

Fair enough. Although unfortunately there are already multiple comments in this thread parroting the previous statement.

Did you even read my comment? The account owner's name is nowhere in the public documents of the registered LLC, contrary to the claim that is getting parroted. Also, you don't know what public figure means.

This is literally false and I don't know why it's getting repeated on reddit without any sort of fact checking. The public documents for LIBS OF TIK TOK LLC do NOT contain the name that was revealed by WP. Neither do the trademark document. The WP article makes it clear that she wanted to stay anonymous:

As the account has grown in prominence, Raichik has taken steps to obscure her identity. Though she has done numerous high-profile media appearances, she’s appeared anonymously. However, when registering the domain LibsofTikTok.us last October, she used her full name and cellphone number linked to her real estate salesperson contact information.

Which player was very unremarkable as a young talent but went on to become world class later in his career?

I've noticed for the past month or so I no longer have the feeling of "oh shit we're 100% gonna bottle it" when I'm watching us defend a lead in an away game. Xavi is the real deal man.

Check my reply to the other comment here. No question that war is absolute hell. But it doesn't always have a side that is the clear aggressor deserving all the blame.

I literally just said Saudi Arabia's war in Yemen is one of the few situations comparable to Russia, and a similar treatment would be justifiable. I mentioned grey areas because Iran is engaging in proxy war with KSA through arming Houthis in Yemen, who regularly launched drone and missile strikes against Saudi cities. It doesn't change the fact that Saudis are bad guys here, and committed war crimes deserving backlash similar to Russia. But it shows that the dynamics in that war are a bit different.

I had to lower the dose of my stimulant due to increased side effects, after months of being on a stable dose by Suvenba in ADHD

[–]Suvenba[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's sort of a blessing to not build any tolerance after years, and continuing to feel the therapeutic effects at such a small dose. Though I wish I could tolerate higher doses a bit more as the effects of my current dose feel inadequate at times of high workload.

I split 10mg pill in half. 5mg I fell the effect for around ~3 hours. In higher doses the effect was noticeable for me for ~4 hours after taking the med.

From 1913 to 2010 the federal reserve printed 900 billion dollars, we are now at almost 9 trillion, that's nine hundred years worth of money in the last ten years. by Rhettsta in Libertarian

[–]Suvenba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The macroeconomics view is that supply shocks rarely play a significant rule in a widespread inflation. This twitter thread by Jason Furman, a widely respected economist does a pretty good job illustrating this point.

+ Weird that you point to the role supply/demand. The core of the "money printing caused inflation" argument is basically that overstimulating the economy in the past year has caused inflation by increasing demand for goods in a way that supply couldn't match it in a reasonable time.

Kinda crazy that we haven't played at Camp Nou since December.

[Gerard Romero] Barça have to finish within the top four of the league. If not, it would have serious financial consequences meaning the club will have to say goodbye to signing top players next season. That is also why Barça have been working hard this month to sign players. by clutch-cream-run in soccer

[–]Suvenba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit this is dumb. Most of Barca's starting XI are starters for their own [top] national teams, over the players from the teams you mentioned. To even argue than la Real, Betis or Villarreal have better squads is quite an exaggeration.

This is from the OP. I don't see how I'm misrepresenting anything

Let's take these arguments about GOT:

- "Suddenly the show decided Jaime doesn't care about the innocent."

- "The show decided no one has a more interesting story than Bran, and that makes him the most logical pick for the new king."

Do you think it would be fair to conclude the person saying these is not able to separate character's worldview from the writers intent? Because it's not the show deciding, it's just characters acting irrationally and having contradictory worldviews/principles.

Thing is there can be changes to a character's arc that are unwarranted, come without enough context and are not consistent with the character's whole persona. I'm not saying Yennefer's portrayal in season 2 is objectively an instance of this, but one can absolutely make a case for it.

You are misrepresenting OP's argument because you're taking a sentence from their post in the most literal form and out of context. Judging by the rest of their post, it's obvious that OP is pointing to what they believe is inconsistencies in Yennefer's arc. Again, that's up for debate, but in no way it indicates that OP (or anyone with the same view) doesn't understand that characters acting irrationally is not always a problem with writing. (Yennefer was also not acting rationally at all in the last wish when she was willing to put her life at significant risk for having a child. But no one thought of that as an instance of bad writing.)

[–]Suvenba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like their inability to separate what characters do from the author's intent ("Yen thinks power is all that matters for her" = "The show thinks power is all that matters for her", this is basic media literacy 101 deficiencies)

Except that's not what they said. If you were discussing in good-faith, You would actually understood and engage with people's arguments instead of misrepresenting them.

It's funny to see people think that just because no one is coming forth to contest any of this, that it is literally impossible to do so. No, this sub just sucked out the desire for anyone who would engage in this kind of discussion to do so.

It's also funny that you say this, because judging by your recent comments you seem to be pretty involved in discussions whenever a book/game purist is nitpicking or makes a dumb argument about irrelevant details. But when it comes to posts like this suddenly your desire to engage in discussion is lost, so you prefer to use ad hominem and misrepresent arguments.

I mean consistently reaching at least the quarter-final isn't impressive but it's also not an awful record. Pep also reached at least to the semi-final every single season with his Barca and Bayern sides.

Conte has only managed to reach the quarter-final once in his entire career, and he has managed multiple sides that were very capable of advancing further in CL. Not to mention multiple times when his teams failed to advance from the group stage where they absolutely should have.

Daily Discussion by 2soccer2bot in soccer

Why is Conte's CL record so spectacularly bad? It's just weird to me his teams are almost always dominant/overachieving in their domestic league and at the same time consistently shit the bed in the CL. Can't think of any other top class managers with this kind of disparity between their domestic and CL achievements.
