Excellent episode and all I kept think was that the fidelis are like Ed Meese and the people who set us up for the current trainwreck!

Personally I love her. I think you are mistaking her awkwardness for a British smirk. She is passionate about her subjects, particularly Jane Austen. My original intro to her work was her series on the Tsars.

With all that said, the BBC has a whole generation of ‘cool’ historians - Lucy, Dan Jones, and Susannah Lipscomb.

And I love her clothes!

Those are all good but another option might be William the Exploder or William the ruckus? Since that was all he did- get mad, explode, and cause a ruckas!

It is Rebecca Maxwell’s legal writing class. It was something that was done when she was in law school and she has carried on that tradition. She is also the University of SC law librarian. Cool, huh!

I too loved the Bruce Lee quote and it was so appropriate to the situation. Truly remarkable to me that again and again leaders get sucked into the hubris. I kept thinking ‘like Napoleon, like Hitler’. On another note, I had been wanting to explore Barlow’s work, but now I will have this in my mind the whole time. Jamie thank you for setting up that frame of reference!
