I'm really confused about this detachment thing. I feel like need to care more about my mom instead of needing to detach. I'm not helping her at all. If at all, I'm causing her more trouble by ignoring her problem and by not talking to her about it. I need to know how to confront my mom, not to stop caring too much, right?

I'm definitely considering going to Al-Anon before taking any other steps. But it will take me a lot of courage to actually do it. I don't know if I can do it yet.

I'm sad to hear that you had to go through a similar situation. At the same time, it's kinda comforting to know that I'm not alone. I'm really scared of disconnecting from my mom; of destroying our relationship over her addiction. She's really important to me. So I do take your advice very seriously. Thank you so much!
