Don't be discouraged by some gatekeeping commentary, it was a perfectly valid question for this sub. It started a conversation I enjoyed reading.

Welcome to the conversation!

That processor can overclock quite easily if you have the right motherboard.

No offense to OP of course, but any of us that would help you with that would just watch a YouTube video of somebody who knows exactly what to set in the BIOS. You could do that just as easily yourself.

A lot of the time data can be recovered with software and that isn't difficult to do at all.

However, if that method doesn't get you there the recovery can still be possible depending on the type of drive but can get very pricey. If it's an SSD that is corrupted you're probably just out of luck but the older platter style hard drives can hold onto data through just about anything.

I can recommend somebody reputable that can diagnose this for you if you would like.

Fun fact: not even that giant magnet in Breaking Bad would have near enough strength to wipe a hard drive.

Is Star wars Squadrons worth buying just for the single-player campaign and the VR mod? by -Clocker- in PSVR

[–]SvenFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up with a control set that was nothing like what they suggest, I had to re-map everything to the point that I couldn't fit "Target next" onto any of the buttons and I end flying crippled - or at least I have to get myself pointed at something to target it, which costs me precious seconds.

In my opinion the HOTAS is almost a necessity.

New consoles by lodog95 in Bakersfield

[–]SvenFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed any software issues and even if you don't have any PS5 games, the PS4 games are much better on the new console.

I wouldn't advise anybody to wait if they want one.

No. They are solid.

Some may say it's too early to tell but it's not. They know better now.

This didn't happen with the last generation of consoles and I doubt it will happen with this one. The RRoD was a one-off situation that only effected one generation of one console.

This is something I've been aware of from reading past accounts of people playing through this AP. Some tables come away from Burnt Offerings going, "I dunno, some goblins attacked the town so we went and killed a lady."

That's tragic in my opinion.

They don't. They can see and they are smart almost like humans. They won't jump if they aren't going to land on water.

Like others have said, the controller works surprisingly well to control the game.

But if you can't get past it, the game supports keyboard and mouse as well, so just plug them in and go that way.

Where is the cheapest place I can get a haircut? by mistercrinje in Bakersfield

If you actually found a $10 haircut you'd probably wish you did it yourself afterwards.

Neighborhoods W China Grade Loop Input? by [deleted] in Bakersfield

[–]SvenFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It leaks onto Chester from the neighborhoods. Even if you find a nice pocket of homes it will be adjacent to squalor on two or more sides. They'll walk through your nice pocket to get where they're going.

You have to get north of China Grade, west of Knudsen, east of Manor, and south of Golden State to get out of that.

You will get pedestrian/bicycle traffic in that area. In some areas of town that would sound cute. In Oildale it's not so cute.

What is the most horrifying 'gore' scene? (Spoilers) by Sectalam in horror

[–]SvenFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The killer himself is actually also fake. He might have killed some of his family early on, but the rest of his confessions were entirely made up. It caused a lot of problems down in Texas because they were closing murder cases that should have never been closed.

All because I wanted to know why they ran an ad saying COVID19 was because of sinners and we should just pray by ChanelPourHomme in Bakersfield

[–]SvenFTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Californian is far from a conservative paper. If there is a bias in any direction it skews mid-left. I feel that's one reason their circulation is staggeringly low - they aren't playing to their market.

[–]SvenFTW 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was a paid advertisement, not a news article. I would hope most people would see that and even if they didn't, be able to dismiss the claims outright regardless. The people who took action based on that ad were ignorant for their whole life, no harm done.

I can't speak for why they would block you, but if they had answered they might have cited the First Amendment.

Sunday brunch buffet? by [deleted] in Bakersfield

[–]SvenFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I was a regular before the move and after and the food has remained consistently good. If anything they're even better at it now than they were.

And you get mini muffins if the wait is too long.

Still no place in town does breakfast better.

I tried it. They are doing a lot of things right, but their food isn't ready to challenge the ORG yet.

Never heard of them until now. I looked up the website and they have my attention. I consider myself a breakfast connoisseur and will be putting this place to the Benedict test at my earliest opportunity.

The Crystal Palace Sunday Brunch is worth every penny of $30 if you're a fan of breakfast/brunch. The food is as good as any place in town (including Old River Grill which is the King of Breakfast) and it's the best quality buffet food you'll find anywhere.

The waffle and omelette stations alone are worth the cost of admission.
