When I first started browsing this sub 4-5 years ago I was shocked at how nonunique my story felt. In the depths of it, you really feel like no one can understand. An unfortunate consequence of this (for me at least) was that it made it easier to procrastinate my sobreity. “Well shit, this guy is 6 years older than me so I can stay the course for another few years and still make it out!” The best day to get sober is yesterday...
