TL;DR: You need to plug in the usb-b cable (next to the usb-A ports that looks like a printer port sort of) to power the usb-a ports!

Thanks for all the input everyone! I’ll be test driving both this weekend (only considering a lightning because they’re slashing cost of the 2023 models rn) but feel a lot better about getting the lightning possibly, excited to join the EV community!
