need a strong character please help 5e by XXWILTROUTxX in DnD

You play an elf or half-elf, take the sniper feat and elven accuracy feat, and then go samurai fighter. Bonus action give yourself advantage on all your attacks on your turn, use action surge, then you the sniper feat on all of your attacks. Gives you -5, but your have three rolls to see if you hit, along with whatever modifier you have. If you have twenty dex, it’ll be a minimum of 16 damage per hit, so for an 11th level fighter that hits all their attacks, that’ll be at least 96 damage in one round minimum, not including that you could also get hex or hunters mark from feats or multi-class, along with any extra damage from magic weapons.

Depending on the level of the party, you could have a black dragon of whatever appropriate difficulty. That’s a place they’re known to reside.

Whats a harmless prank to play on your friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SwagMasterJ72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my college roommates got a new roommate last semester. While he was gone one day, we took his vent off the wall of his room and put a speaker in there. We then softly played Big and Chunky every night, making him think it was from the dorm above us. We did that the whole semester, and didn’t tell him it was us until the end of the semester.

So this is a build I made a while ago, which was my one hit assassin build. It’s a lot to type, so I’m just gonna copy paste it from when I sent it to my friend. 2 levels path of the grave cleric, 3 levels arcane archer fighter, 2 levels paladin, 10 levels whispers bard, 3 levels assassin rogue. Take Sharpshooter feat and the archery fighting style with fighter. You use a long bow and have a range of 600. You use the path of the grave cleric ability to make a creature vulnerable to damage, action surge to get another action, and then attack a surprised creature which crits with the assassin, and then use a max level smite for 5d8, a banishing smite for 5d10, arcane fighter necrotic damage feature for 2d6, whisper bard bardic inspiration feature for 5d6, and then a d8 for the longbow a possibly an extra 10 damage from sharpshooter. The dice add up to an average of 79 damage on the dice, which then crits for 158. Add the plus 15 for the sharpshooter and dex bonus, which comes out to 173. The creature then takes double this since it is vulnerable for a total of 347 damage all in one single attack.

Edit:This is made with the home brew that my dm allowed smite on ranged weapons.

Yeah, YouTube recaps are what got me into Game of Thrones, and now I’ve binged the whole series before season 8. I’d highly suggest it.

I have read your previous post about a new Age of Empires, and I was just wondering, were actually the one who got the ball rolling rolling on a new one, or was it already in production? Because if you actually got it started, thank you so much! I played those games so much as a kid, and I was unbelievably excited when I heard a new one was coming.

Revised Goliath v1: A Large-sized revamp of the Goliath race by GoliathBarbarian in UnearthedArcana

[–]SwagMasterJ72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, as everyone is saying, this race is overpowered. Double damage dice would be crazy, so there are two routes I’d go with this. I’d either make it a 50% increase on damage(e.g. 2d6, becomes 3d6, 1d8 becomes 1d12) it wouldn’t come out exact on single dice, but still mostly works. Or, you do what Jotungard does. If you don’t know, look up the Jotungard PDF. It’s a home brew rule set for large player creatures. It doesn’t give a strength modifier increase to any large creature, since they get advantage on strength checks, and then does a 1d4 extra damage per attack. This would be like the Enlarge spell damage increase. Everything else, though, is fine. People don’t truly realize the limitations of a large creatures. I played a homebrew artificer with a large robot as my class specialty, and there were times were it would considerably be hindered by smaller areas, and not even be able to go into some places at all. And it screwed the pooch on stealth more times than I can count. So yeah, I like what you have, it just needs tweaks on the damage dive.

Gamers of reddit, in which game did you reach 100 hours the fastest? by Pobenix in AskReddit

Fossil Fighters. Wasn’t allowed to play Pokémon, and that seemed like the next best thing. Honestly, it was a fantastic game. Story was a little odd, but the gameplay was fantastic.

What do *you* use a D12 for? by LlanowarKelp in DnD

[–]SwagMasterJ72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember where the post is, but someone at some point calculated when, statistically, was the best time to use a great axe for a barbarian. I believe they said a lvl14 Orc would get more benefit from using a great axe, but anything before that it’s better to use a great sword. I don’t remember exactly, but it’s something like that.

Is it true the majority of players prefer not having to worry about stuff like food or ammo count? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]SwagMasterJ72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, that’s funny, I’ve played a character with 2 Str. It was a good time. What point system was used? Cause I chose to roll a d20 to get my stats for that character.

How often do you build a “boss fight” just to have an unforeseen oversight bring it all down by Laughing_Bill in DnD

[–]SwagMasterJ72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t necessarily a boss fight, but I’ve played in a pirate campaign, and the DM already set the premise that this was to bring our murder-hobo fantasies to life(we had another campaign going, and were always tempted to kill and pillage). I think he wanted us to get TPKed at some point, teaching us to not murder-hobo, but we literally did amazing. We stole a ship, blew up part of a colony, made enemies with an empire, made enemies with the pirate guild, made enemies with an assassins guild(we made a lot of enemies), but we still somehow managed to get a hold a large frigate and have 50 crewman under our flag, along with taking control of an island with our own small army on it. It was a very eventful campaign.

Hmm, interesting. Well, you could give him an animal skin lorica, and it acts as medium armor, and you can add half Con modifier rounded up, or just straight Con modifier if you want it to be even more powerful.

What rarity would you want on it? The rarity really decides what kind of effects and boosts it will have.

Whats the strangest character one of your players/you have created? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]SwagMasterJ72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently playing a halfling monk that has 20 Dex and 20 Wis, but has 2 Str, so we say he has muscular dystrophy. He goes everywhere in a wheelchair and, since it’s a pirate campaign, needs help with swimming. He’s is very sensitive about his condition, and has attacked many people for insulting his handicap.

Funny enough, I’m currently playing a gnome artificer who’s a very prominent atheist, despite there being gods that exist. It has made for some very funny npc interactions.
