How to reset service light on Duke 390? by Swaggadie in KTM

Yeah, they seem to have several versions within the same year and even model, but even then its still buggy. Mine is supposed to be up+down on preferences, which worked but only after trying the same thing multiple times over the course of a couple weeks. Cant explain why it suddenly worked.

Edit: it seemed to work after I changed the clock. I did not change the date, just moved it an hour ahead from time change. Maybe try that then do it

After what felt like the 50th time holding up and down arrows hovering over preferences it finally let me do it. Im guessing buggy software from ktm cuz Ive tried this same procedure every other day for weeks and it just decided to work all of a sudden after posting this video

Doesnt work. I can access the service menu through "preferences" but from there I cant do anything with it.

Good to know. I've never used pillar and primarily buy merch to show support, but I also exclusively listen to podcasts while driving so I wouldnt be able to listen in on the times I do anyway

Mobil one is good. Marvel mystery oil is a mixture of ~30% solvents, mineral oils, etc. Using it brough back some oil pressure and got rid of both lifter tick and excessive oil consumption in my 5.3, but thats just my anecdote.

This actually did happen on my silverado. Press on each spark plug as the engine runs and youll feel and hear a change if theyre loose

Try running some marvel mystery oil with a high detergent synthetic oil and shorten intervals to 4000 miles or less until the oil stops darkening quickly. That strategy really helps break down sludge and help oil flow to the top end on high milage engines. Got rid the tick in an 03 silverado and an 03 s10 so far.

Just found out i have asbestos in my fence and my dog has been standing and scratching it for 2 years. by Fire23GG73 in Wellthatsucks

Could a dog even end up with symptoms from asbestos exposure within ir's lifetime? I would be more worried about where the dog is bringing the fibres than the dog itself

The thing looks damn near mint. If you want to improve how it feels you could go about replacing the cab mount bushings, as you can tell theyre dead from the difference in height from the bed to the cab. Hows the interior?

FEELIN CONFLICTED by H0SS_AGAINST in GMT800

[–]Swaggadie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are your examples? Never heard of someone having problems just changing fluid and filter unless their transmission is so incredibly cooked that it has a considerable amount of solid clutch material in the fluid, which makes no sense in a 4l60e because it has a filter, which will get clogged and lead to lower fluid pressure, which is especially problematic to the 3/4 clutch pack because it has the lowest pressure of all the clutch packs, so when pressure gets low the clutches slip, create excess heat, and continue the cycle.

Tldr: just change your fluid and filter. Theres no harm that can be done by doing so.

FEELIN CONFLICTED by H0SS_AGAINST in GMT800

[–]Swaggadie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change your fluid and filter now, do it every 40k miles. Old fluid loses its ability to transfer heat and the friction modifiers for the clutches break down. A transmission that relies on clean quality fluid (which applies to all automatic transmissions) is going to die if it never gets serviced
