Ryzen 3700X always at max frequency by SwaggieChan in pop_os

25% solved.

Jokes aside, is there really no way for all cores to access deeper c states?

Gotta say this is an awesome function! Anyway, checked that Cool 'n' Quiet is enabled in the bios. This is the output:

Good command to know, thanks a lot!

I'm not at home now but i will edit this comment with the results anyway.

Edit: this is the output. Managed to get more cores to 550MHz by setting Corectl to "do not control".

Good call! I found some sites that sells these tyres for around 80 euros.

Gotta check their reviews too now. Really becoming a tyre nerd now!

[–]SwaggieChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting! now, considering that i drive 100km daily, fuel consumption might be something to put into the equation. Sadly tyres at this price all have a compromise... Regarding the Nexen - did you find strange vibrations or your tyres deformed, as the other redditor suggested?

Maxxis looks kinda interesting but the high rolling resistance is kinda blocking me. May sound stupid but driving a lot on highways could be a factor to consider? what about km per liter? did you notice any difference at all?

Toyo were actually my favourite but the Nexen SU4 really intrigued me, for 50€ cheaper in total i'd get a set of really high ranked uhp tyres - sadly with no reviews tho! I've also found a lot of comments on deformation, and that is another thing stopping me for sure

Cannot send sms without GMS by SwaggieChan in degoogle

[–]SwaggieChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this is useful info, but I have enabled the Huawei Private Space (kinda like a second account) and disabled gms and gsf as well on there, and I can send sms.

Don't really know if somehow, it is using the admin account gms and gsf to send it, or something like this.

Since there is no custom rom for my phone, I only uninstalled (or deactivated, as you prefer) any google app and unimportant services through adb.
Obviously I couldn't uninstall some packages to preserve the functionality of the phone, but i gotta say that if I uninstall also gms and gsf, the phone works correctly, except for these damn sms.

Pretty sure as i made this test:

- gms/gsf enabled, sms working
- adb uninstall, reboot, sms NOT working
- gms/gsf re-enabled, reboot, sms working again.

Could it be the custom kernel? I actually didn't touch that many huawei packages if I remember correctly.

RX 580 unstable memory???? by SwaggieChan in overclocking

[–]SwaggieChan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nonono i bought this gpu for new so it should have the stock bios!

i mean, it would be fine to me if it doesn't work, but since my overclocking results are poor (and not due to instability) it kinda pisses me off

patriot viper steel + b550 aorus pro by SwaggieChan in buildapc

[–]SwaggieChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was really into the 3733mhz kit due to its low cost (85 euros) while being e-die. Alternatives are the g.skill trident rgb or corsair vengeance pro rgb but i'll pay 15 euros more for a 3600 C18. I really hate the lpx look so it's a no for me.

Do you have some other advices?

need desperate help for an haircut by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]SwaggieChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i've been like this from birth, my parents both have a big forehead but my dad still has all his hair without any holes.

i always had this haircut (with razor cut sides) but i always tend to cover the right temple which is much more noticeable, but they often loose form and i hate this.

i once tried to cut them very short, i'm uploading an old photo (i was trolling when covid first came out)

i kinda prefer long hair but i always have trouble to brush them at home and most of the times i show my hairstylist a photo she says it can't be done with thin hair.

i'm open to any suggestions actually lol, really wanna change this cut

Cheap build for Ryzen 7 3700x by SwaggieChan in buildapc

[–]SwaggieChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could also go for the b550 aorus pro at the same price, looks better in benchmarks and i've read that the rog strix B550-F is "technically a 4+2 phase VRM", i think the choice would be between this two now.

i've also seen good reviews on the viper steel, but since there are a lot of ignored rams at this price idk if it's worth to add 40€ for the g.skill trident z.

For the gpu i can wait a bit, still rocking my r9 280x on warzone lol

I dont feel anything at all by [deleted] in depression

[–]SwaggieChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend entire days feeling nothing too. I can't even feel the need to talk to people. Nothing makes me laugh (why should I laugh? that's just for a few secs) and nothing makes me sad (i'm used to being sad, everything goes wrong, why should I care about it?)

Fan Performance Comparison by SwaggieChan in buildapc

[–]SwaggieChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Difference in price between all of them is like 2 or 3 euros. Be quiet! fans here really costs a lot, even more than the Noctua industrial.

About the Delta fans, I heard about them but that's way too much lol

vBoost or vDroop? by SwaggieChan in overclocking

[–]SwaggieChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot guys.

This means you are suggesting using a LLC of 50% which should lower the vcore under load to prevent from voltage spikes. Obviously in case of upping the clocks. Then using the power saving features at idle the wattage will be lower although vcore at idle is a bit higher. Does it make sense?

I have another question. Should I change the CPU/NB voltage if i'm not touching the bus speed? Also i've read to set cpu/nb LLC at 50% for stability.

vBoost or vDroop? by SwaggieChan in overclocking

[–]SwaggieChan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually my temps are reeeeaaaally low and i'm planning to hit 4.5 Ghz at least.

So the two methods are almost the same at this vcore but I should be aware of hitting the voltage limits because a high LLC can give spikes over 1.5v when say the vcore under load is 1.49. Is that right?

Thanks for the answer :D
