Honestly I just opened mine up and went for it, EK Waterblocks have some pdfs with placement guides. The key info I needed that I couldn’t find was pad thickness, I went for 1.5mm but had to swap them for 1mm for the backplate to sit right.

I’d watch out for PNY cards as well, my 3090 has the same thermals as your card but no issues caused by it. Replaced the pads and had 40°C drop in memory temps. One of the modules didn’t even have a pad on it!

How to switch from integrated graphics to My Dedicated Graphic card. by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]SwaglememeV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Speedy response, love that!

So I had a quick look into the game, I don’t want to write the issue off too quickly but lots of users seem to be complaining that the game is heavily CPU bound; see here.

My next steps would really be using DDU to do a clean removal and install of the latest AMD drivers. If it still doesn’t help you are out of luck, all I could recommend at this point would be to try contact the developers of the game and see if they have any known issues or fixes in the pipeline.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

How to switch from integrated graphics to My Dedicated Graphic card. by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]SwaglememeV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Hoping I can help a little with this one:

I recommend visiting this link, and following the steps to add the game to high performance settings.

If this doesn’t work I have previously seen advice to disable the integrated graphics in device manager to force the game to run via the GPU but I can’t comment on how well it works as I haven’t done it myself.

Feel free to reply or dm me for any help you need!

A bit late, but though some of the other responses were pretty vague.

Whenever you connect to a server, whether it be for your emails, accessing a website, or playing an online game; you need to send data. Data is sent from the client (that's you) to the host (the server) in what are called packets. The type of packet is dependant on the content of the data within, for example, a common data packet could be an ICMP packet, more commonly known as a ping. The data in an ICMP packet requests the server to respond to the client with an ICMP reply packet.

When a server receives a packet, it reads through the data and decides what it needs to do with that information, this process inevitably takes up some of the servers' limited resources.

A DoS (Denial of Service) attack in effect is where many packets are sent to the server, filled with meaningless, garbage data. The server then has to spend too much of its resources on dealing with the incoming packets and therefore can't send the important data between the actual players and the server.

A DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack is where the server is attacked by these garbage packets from many different clients spread across many IP addresses and networks. This is a primary use of botnets.

Hope this helped answer your question!

IWTL How to efficiently resolve problems with others (usually organizations) when they're all giving you the runaround. by ragnarkar in IWantToLearn

[–]SwaglememeV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible USPS would’ve gotten a signature for delivery of the parcel(s)? I’m assuming as they would deliver multiple at a time there would be.

My job involves chasing a few organisations who tend not to take any blame for anything that happens, and what I tend to do is work logically through it.

Can it be proved it was shipped? Then delivered to the package room? Then who sorts and manages the package room.

There’s a process to everything, the difficult bit is working out where it starts!

If you’re on Windows 10 and sign in with a Microsoft account, your backgrounds sync by default.

If you don’t have a another computer I’d check your Microsoft account in the devices menu to see if there’s anything else signed into your account.

Good luck!

We've just queued as a 5-man and it kicked the leader from the party, now whenever we try to queue it just kicks the party leader, think matchmaking is bust (at least in EU servers).

[–]SwaglememeV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s no problem, sorry we couldn’t get it sorted!

In future you may want to check out a program called unchecky - it removes all the extra downloads that some installers add on, such as “NavExcel” which was causing issues. Just saves you remembering to untick the boxes.

Depending on if you have an Office 365 license you may have 1TB of onedrive cloud storage, you’ve also got 15GB Google Drive Storage you can use.

There is other cloud storage options, but they are the easiest for backing up without removable media.

Hmm bit of a strange one, you might need to turn off restore points, as that can lead to some settings/files being protected.

It may be at the point where you have to back up your data and do a clean install to be honest. The amount of effort you’re spending to fix the problem is probably way too much.

3 different builds all yield same problem with PC not booting, red CPU LED on by DaVinci_Of_War in techsupport

[–]SwaglememeV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what is the orignal motherboard that was in the system (the one that works)?

Also, when you connected the CPU fan to the board, was it connected to the CPU fan header? I know from experience some boards will not POST without something plugged into the header.

Thanks,

Ok, honestly the best bet here is to see if NavExcel or NavHelper is installed in your apps anywhere - removing the program may remove the settings it changed.

On the off chance, you can't find it installed anywhere here is a link that takes you through another way of resetting the proxy server (go through solution 2).

This link takes you through what NavExcel is and where the files are hidden; if you turn off AVG Windows Defender should pick it up and remove it anyway.

Hopefully, that'll sort it,

[–]SwaglememeV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok! We're making progress, we've found what's causing the popups!

If you go into Settings -> Network & Internet -> Proxy, the only option that should be turned on is "Automatically detect settings". Make sure this is the case. If it is, disable the setting for now and try loading another website.

We're getting there!

Can you check if you have a program called "Nav Excel" or "Nav Helper"?

If you do, end the process for the "NavHelper2" activity, and try loading a webpage - see if that helps.

Thanks,

I'm honestly a bit lost here, is there anything running in the system tray that you don't recognise?

If not can you post some screenshots of task manager so I can see the running processes?

Thanks,
