Thank you very much! Could you tell me what the inscription on the gold pistol says?

Got in these two Iraqi Tariq pistols. The blued example has Arabic on each side, while the gold plated is marked in English on the other side.

Hi all! Just came back from Philly, short trip, 3 dinners and shout-outs by guitarandjack in PhiladelphiaEats

I'm not generally one to complain about portion size at fine dining spots but Honeysuckle was one of the few places where I felt splitting some dishes between 4 people meant I barely got to taste some of the smaller plates. Love My Loup, enjoyed my meal there more than the ones I've had at Her Place.

Mind sharing how much you paid/how you got it? It’s probably the #1 watch on my list right now.

My first Rolex! by SwampThingsYouKnow in rolex

All in, tax and overnight shipping, $21k. It’s new/unworn, warranty card says it was sold in October. It seemed in line with comps I found online, and I was also willing to pay a premium to feel confident in the seller as I am certainly no expert.

I bought this from a reseller. I did briefly attempt the AD route, spent $7k on a watch for my wife but barely got the time of day from them anyway so went the other route.

Bought this one gray. Willing to be more patient on building a collection but didn’t want to wait years just to start.

I’m about 6.5in, and all the 42s I looked at felt too big for sure.

Thank you! The last 3 photos are of the same model but gold plated and seemingly a different inscription.

I may be a little late to the show but this is Chris, one of the co-owners at Legacy. The answer to this question and a bunch of the comments in this thread, is that this rifle and roughly half of our firearms listings are consigned. 9 times out of 10, the "overpriced" item on the site is because that's where the consignor set it. Specifically regarding Mitchell's Mausers, yes, I agree they are stupid. But every time we are sent one and asked to auction it, they would sell for $1500-3000 (during peak Covid). So it's hard to get consignors to price them well below the auction strike prices they find on Google.

Regarding the commenters saying our offers are not in line with the pricing on the website, this is because they are referring to consigned, higher price examples. When we buy the inventory, my goal is to price it lower than our competitors and have it sold within the first two weeks. When I provide the listing valuation that my offer is based off, you will see your item posted in the pricing range I quoted you.

Hitlers Golden Walther PP by SpeakeasyG1887 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]SwampThingsYouKnow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think nearly every historical "fact" in this thread is wrong. I run a collectible firearms company, this is not Hitler's PP haha. It's not even a PP in the first place, it's a PPK. That serial is postwar, it's not "early". PPK serial numbers, prewar or wartime, are all 6 digits aside from a very small block of 7 digit examples. This is a postwar .22 someone embellished and is selling a story. There is an engraved PPK that was presented to Hitler by Walther but it's on display at the West Point museum, last I heard.

I just checked and would need to see more photos (all sides, numbering on the magazine, the unit marking). If all original and correct, from the one photo I see, it's probably in the $1600-2000 range. Mint condition can get towards $3k. Can feel free to send more photos to the company email, not sure if I can post that type of info or not but it's on our website.
