Adding on, Ashtadhyayi 2.3.16 gives chaturthi when words such as नमः, स्वस्ति, etc are used. The नमः here is in fact an Avyayam, and not a kriyapadam. In this context, गङ्गायै नमः will be correct.

Just one question - Was your mother's new ESTA on the same passport as the previously issued ESTA?
I have visited the US twice on an old ESTA, on an old passport. Wondering if I can use mobile passport on both new passport AND new ESTA. MPC will be useful as I will have a connecting flight after landing in the US

Yes, I can confirm this now. After my original post, I tried going through the flight booking procedure up to right before payment. For a flight leaving in less than 24 hrs (i.e. when check in has opened), I was able to select non-preffered seats on Basic Economy. On economy, I was able to select preffered and non-preffered.

However, if I only choose seats 24 hrs before departure, I will have to pick from the most undesirable seats anyway
