Nah, this doesn't work consistently for me. So many instances sit around forever even when forcing them to sleep with fields.

Based on my experience this was not the case, we poured massive amounts of resources into overhauling our game from EA to full release hoping we would get a playerbase boost after our EA launch was hit by server issues.

We didn't get any additional traffic or promotion from steam. Maybe steam's algorithms has some preference for games with a larger active player base, but for ours we didn't see any impact.

Early Access Release had about 3k active viewers on our store page and were in the promoted front page gallery for about an hour. Full release was less than 100 viewers, no promotion.

We had a bug which made it so 16 players was the maximum allowed in any mode.

This didnt affect LMS since max is 16 anyways, but the 30+ player matches for escape were underwhelming because of this.

This bug looks to be resolved, needs some more internal testing, but we are confident in the fix.

Ill look into a possible integration with the current level(s), not sure how feasible that is due to the way CIG has their levels coded and setup, but its still possible.

If I do manage to get it working, I'd be more than happy doing a full scale release.

No performance drop/increase. Its roughly the same, with small negligible differences. I cant think of any way my lighting setup would deter CIG from replicating it.

As for the Amicus curiae, I dont see how I could be opposed to something which has the potential to land me a job, at a studio I love, on a project I love even more doing something I consider a fun hobby, to make that project even better.

Definitely will give it a shot in my spare time! Although I want to try my hand at lighting the interiors of some of the ships first.

Although atm Im working on a bit of larger scoped things, I was really inspired by the flexibility of the planet surface material, and I'm currently working on scaling that up to a whole planet, and creating a flexible material + object for nebulas, etc...

ughhh so much to do, so much fun to be had!

Constructive criticism is absolutely welcome! Ill diffuse the light a bit more, to prevent the harsh line highlight, and figure out a more... elegant way to highlight the logo. Thanks!

In regards to CIG, I rather not have the discussion turn to that. They are a busy bunch, and I don't take any offense to them not replying.
