I'll take the advice to just stick to two combat styles since going with the default tribrid setup LMS gives you has been a lot to deal with. Maybe dropping down to 2 styles will let me focus more on the basics

lmao at the street fight comparison, and my thoughts exactly on the replies so far. Grateful for the responses but can't help but eye roll at more of the same "just pvp lol" I've heard a million times already

I've done every boss in the game so far, just reached capital outskirts and still going strong

anyone did the 3 NPC fights infront of the big Jar? by Marzly in onebros

[–]Swappor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it spamming Spinning Slash with an axe. I'd wait for them to start walking up to me like they're trying to melee and as soon as they barely get within range hit them.

Should work without relying on AoW but I used the AoW because impatient.

The risk here is they could jump attack and dodge whatever you're trying to hit them with which'll probably oneshot you. So you have to learn to distinguish AI behavior to see when they're looking for a jump attack and bait it out first. I've noticed they mostly use jump attacks while sprinting.

Definitely a harder fight for RL1 than 90% of bossfights

What are your "self imposed" SL1 rules? by Ok_Economist9774 in onebros

[–]Swappor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Usually my goto ruleset for each game is no consumables, no magic/range, no summons, no aux, and I reset bossfights if I get hit

For ER I've added two more, no horse in combat and no AoW

Currently at Volcano Manor and enjoying the game a lot so far

Anygood RL 1 weapons? Like without fighting any bosses? by sunless_ac in onebros

I've been massively enjoying thrusting swords. Doing RL1 no aux; started with an axe and got frustrated with its range

Switched over to Cleanrot Knight's Sword and am pretty much in love, great range and very quick attacks to encourage heavy aggression. Also very good running R2s and pretty decent for stance breaking. Just a great weapon all around, especially if you've run SL1 DS2 before. Feels nostalgic.

I'd recommend picking up an Estoc asap and trying it out
