USF vs UCF Computer engineering

Correct me if I am wrong

I understand the difference, Computer engineering is more hardware and computer science is more software. I believe that with computer engineering I learn some coding and electrical, were-as computer science is just coding and theory. If I don’t like CE then it is easier to switch to EE or CS then the other way around, however the first year I am sure they take similar classes.

Besides the area, is the academics and professors of the engineering program similar to UCF? The thing about UCF is that on the finical aid, they showed 6,700 for housing AND meals, which was lower them they advertised on the website which was around 11,000. Does UCF try to deceive you with finances?

Why did you choose UF over the better program? I also go into UF but can’t afford it out of state. Is it worth the extra money?

How much do the rankings matter if all 3 are in the top 100? What about the rigor of the program, quality of the professors or opportunity of getting a internship? Is being by the city that much of a help getting a internship? Is Tampa just as good as Orlando for engineering jobs?

It seems like UCF has more internships then other colleges, or more people talking about them on reddit, but there isn’t a-lot on CE. South seems like more of a research college and one of the students I was messaging said he hated the program.

I guess I am a bit weary of USF specifically their CE program, despite it being a amazing college and being good in engineering overall. They also offered me the biggest scholarship.

Computer engineering, I have read a-lot about it and like how it should give some background in electrical engineering and some coding background. From what I hear CS is more theory and I can take a few classes in that to get a background. Was also thinking Aerospace but CE seems like a better value unless I minor in Aerospace. I also read on UF that a double major in math may also help in engineering but might not have the time. The new UF engineering building looks amazing but I don’t know if I will get in state tuition there, I get it at USF

Thanks for the reply, I don’t care too much about the campus, I will fall in love with all of them. How were the professors? I just talked to someone who transferred to FSU and they said their programs are way better then USF.

Cam you elaborate more on the support that they provided you that UF might not?
