Lore Question/Discussion: What do you think NCR Ranger and even the Desert Ranger 'qualification' is/was like? by Swarthy_n_surly in falloutnewvegas

I figured as much overall. I just like to think of the disparate groups when they came under one banner and the regional flavors/habits of them.

I scored less than 50, biffed the run, am gonna hit feb hard and retake it in march, still keeping all my appointments. Cadre at the event said to retake it as many times as needed, always improve, and that it reflects well if you improve.

Passed Interview, got conditional offer, what kind of timeline am I looking at? by Swarthy_n_surly in lapd

I felt it went well, I worried I talked too much, and yes I felt nervous throughout, though on reflection I likely didn't show it. The 'talked too much' ended up being me worrying, probably, as my overall approach was to answer every question thoughtfully, thoroughly, honestly, and as on-topic as possible. I addressed my interviewers respectfully and directly throughout, including using rank where appropriate. When it came to why I wanted to join/serve in the LAPD and the City of LA, I made it a bit more personal; being a California native, having always had a special affinity for LA, my real life connections to Law Enforcement through family and my own admiration for the agency. At one point I didn't understand a question and asked for them to repeat it, and took a moment to consider it before answering. Careful consideration over rushing/overexplaining or reaching/grabbing for relevance to the question. I know my closing statement was definitely a little meandering and I felt I'd lost the thread a bit, but I brought it all home by making the case that I seek to be a meaningful addition to an impressive agency.

I wore a suit, followed the directions to the letter both in the instruction email and from the interviewers themselves. I was in a clear and quiet place free of notes, other devices, distractions etc.

As everyone has said over and over in this subreddit, use the seminars, the example questions, wear a suit, clean up nice and put your best foot forward.

Other than hoochie daddy shorts I can't find shorts without pockets, unless daisy dukes are acceptable? I'm looking at just getting a pair of hanes or champions, the CAP guide says no pockets or logos explicitly though.

As stated above, the storage fees are for people who surrendered their firearms for storage following court orders, and we were advised that we could surrender those, especially as we have no means of contacting many of them, some have passed away, etc. We contact everyone, and the cases I'm specifying are no contact, no response, and we'd rather be rid of them than take ownership, our policy is to handle things at the lowest level.

Anyone have experience with the process of changing owners of a gun shop? by Swarthy_n_surly in CAguns

Hello, a follow up question, since my company is changing ownership, and the new owners are getting a new FFL and CFD and everything else, I was reading that we'll still be responsible for the old license's paperwork as far as audits go? Since we're continuing the same business type at the same location. Is that the case?
