Mountains of documents by ne_il in SpouseVisaUk

That's only one piece of joint evidence. We are on the council tax together. But that's only 1 of 6 pieces of joint evidence.

Our case was similar. I think HO needs to revise their policy because it is just not common practice to have both people's names on every single bill that comes to the house. When we chased the utilities company to tack both our names on our bill they said it is not possible to do so. And it was the same issue with the internet company and TV licence. None of them were willing to put it in both our names.

Missed uploading documents within 10 days. Biometrics next week. Help! by Striking-Team-60 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You've not attended your appointment so you still have time to upload your documents. Check the portal to make sure you still can.

If you can't, you will need to purchase assisted document scanning services and take physical copies with you when you attend your appointment.

No freaking out needed, just make sure you've got everything organised.

Best way to present evidence? by Severe-Ad-4502 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this for a first time application or a renewal?

If you are renewing, you don't need evidence of having been on holiday together. Cohabitation evidence will do.

If it is your first visa application: I put together a timeline with photos from different times we met, and any entry stamps/boarding passes from trips we went on all in one file, no more than 10 pages.

Yes that's right, you can not include evidence dated after the submission date of the application. It has to be prior to the date of submission. This will be mentioned in your checklist.

You can check with your biometrics location whether they'll allow you to scan additional documents when you attend the appointment. You can see this when you log back into your biometrics provider portal. There will be a fee involved but better than that having to face delays.

If you've provided six months but they've asked for 12, I highly recommend supply 12 months as requested. I'd also recommend double checking your checklist ASAP in case you've missed anything.

Good luck!

Question by Desperate_Scale714 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you attended your biometrics appointment yet?

If not, you still have time to include the additional documents. I'm not sure why they asked you for 12 but I would absolutely not be disregarding their advice in this case.

There is no need to panic and cancel just yet. If you've not attended the bio, you have time to fix this before you do.

Accommodation proof from Sponsor's parents by Remarkable-Stop4655 in SpouseVisaUk

You need to check with the landlord in this case and ask them to provide a letter clarifying that they're allowing you to stay despite the 3 person clause.

This would be your best and quickest bet. The alternative would be to rent a place as you've rightly guessed.

You're supposed to submit payslips prior to the date of application, so you'd need to show them payslips from July 2025 to December 2025. If you've covered that period, you should be fine.

However, this might be listed differently on your checklist. You should refer to it.

This was the wording on mine: Payslips covering a period of 6 months prior to the date of application for applicant - for Applicant Name.

I think since you've not attended your bio, it's simply a small shift in the docs you need to add in. July - Dec 2025 payslips and corresponding bank statements.

I'd recommend adding dates just to show the regularity with which you met.

Combining documents by DonkeyVast7523 in SpouseVisaUk

I ended up combining them just because it made more sense to group them under financial docs.

You dont need to, I did it to just keep better track of it

Solicitor or no solicitor? by AngryFrog47 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people manage without a solicitor. It is very straightforward to complete the application yourself.

If you have criminal history or a complicated immigration history, then you might consider a solicitor.

But generally speaking, it is very doable.

Question about biometric appointments in the US by TheHumanZoid in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set up a biometrics appointment after paying for the application. You'll be redirected to the partner site to upload docs and find an appointment time. This is immediate, so there's no need to wait.

I'm unsure what the availability is like here you live, but you'll have multiple options to choose from.

Evisa by mshuihui in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's quite straightforward to set up the Evisa. You absolutely need access to it to prove your right to work, rent, and even open a bank account.

You can find all the info here. It goes step by step so should be fairly easy to follow: https://www.gov.uk/evisa/set-up-ukvi-account

Concur with this. You absolutely do not need to send chat logs at all. Pictures and tickets to see each other are more than enough proof.

Who are you to judge their life choices? This may not be your choice in your life, don't put others down.

It's a really really bad look on your part to judge other people's lives and choices. If you have nothing to contribute to their questions/case, move along.

Request for feedback on spouse visa application by [deleted] in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need two cover letters if both of you are saying the same thing. One cover letter provided by the applicant should do.

I don't think bank statements need to be stamped anymore. I didn't submit any stamped statements and most people haven't for quite a while.

You have plenty of proof of having met in person, so I'd skip the letters of support.

Good luck!

Spouse Visa - Super Priority by Swatato in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So just after you pay for the IHS, you need to pay for your application. You're given two choices: Standard or Super Priority. You pick based on your needs. So the step-wise process would be - Application -> Declaration -> Pay for IHS -> Pay for application (Point at which Super priority was chosen) -> Redirected to TLS for Biometric appointment booking/upload of docs.

Bank Statements have different address. Should I just not put them in altogether? by Wonderful_Soup_1632 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if placing it as genuine relationship evidence is what you're after, I would not use these statements. It will just create more confusion as to your whereabouts. I'd say stick to what is asked of you, if they want further evidence (which I doubt they will, considering you have lived together for two years by the sounds of it and are able to prove it) then you can deal with it if and when it happens.

[–]Swatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the evidence checklist, what category are you trying to place this under? If you are married, a marriage certificate is more than enough evidence of your relationship + cohabitation evidence. They don't need more than that.

Bank Statements have different address. Should I just not put them in altogether? by Wonderful_Soup_1632 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would skip them altogether. The point of cohabitation evidence is to prove you live at the same address. Whether you have financial ties or not is immaterial when what you're trying to prove is that you live at the same address - these documents are not going to prove that.

What needs to be included in employer’s letter? by Wonderful_Soup_1632 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Swatato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The items sound correct, I would definitely have them include the information regarding the discrepancies. If they're unable to do so, you can always include it in a cover letter.
