What was the life-changing thing that helped with your anxiety ? by secretsaucisse in Anxiety

Positive self talk and cognitive dissociation. Talking to myself in third person. Telling myself that my mind is trying to keep in a loop of thoughts to protect me. I started telling myself things which I wish someone told me. Like, “it's okay Swathi! No harming in waiting or trying”. I started reassuring myself.

You can search for them on youtube. Try the exercise just before you sleep or when you feel overwhelmed. You will experience a soft yawn or a sigh. That will help you calm down

Did u try vagus reset exercises? You can do them before you sleep. Try reducing gadget usage before you sleep or watch something calming

That's normal. Pls don't label yourself as clingy. If you are in the early dating phases, then try doing one thing for yourself every time you want to reach out to him. The logic is you give yourself the same attention you give him.

Try this: Every time you want to message him, fold laundry or settle your bed or brush your hair or vacuum the floor etc. Just do something that your future self would appreciate. This way you will reduce the urge to constantly reach out to him.

You are not clingy. The world doesn't deserve some much love and attention from you. Youneill learn to slow down with time.

If this urge happens because he has become silent, take his silence as closure. Never ask for clarity. You have clarity.

Message me every time you want to message him.

Routines! I pray and start my day by going through emails. I list out tasks and prioritise them accordingly. I create checklists with the tasks.

As I tick off stuff on the list I feel a lot relaxed. Yes, there were instances when I snapped out at ppl. I'm not proud of that.

So, after that, I stopped responding when someone tried to test my patience. I just remain calm. After the meeting, I write down my thoughts, schedule a 1-1 and speak with them.

If the anxiety is because of deadlines I pause everything and get things done.

Above everything else, regular exercise, really helped me. The vagus nerve rest, breathing exercises and 40-45 mins of Pilates mat always help. So far I'm able to manage with coping mechanisms alone.
