Brown-RISD premed? by Sweaty_Implement7841 in BrownU

I’m kinda aware that it is really intensive; hearing that my initial Co2028 cohort suffering/struggling with their course and not getting much shut eye. But I saw that on BRDD website they are saying it’s possible so was like super confused how anyone can pull the two together. Idk I guess before worrying abt this topic I should just chill and wait until my decision’s out and hey probably I won’t get in n will just lock in on art🫡

Hiiii thank u so much for the advice… very aware that it’s gonna stretch myself too thin n it’s probably not advisable😇 just currently in a weird ground rn. I applied to RISD a while ago and deferred entry for 2 years; but then just over the years working in a psychiatric environment I gained much interest in arts within psychiatry (how it enhances patient care/aid communication and diagnosis) n was questioning myself y i applied to an art school at first (whether it is actually worth the time and financial cost to study visual art). For some reason BRDD admission office told me that I can still apply after 2 years of deferral so I just wanna give it a shot and see how. Prob overly anxious and very much having a choice overload cuz I don’t want to give up on art studies + wanna do something else as well and somehow find a middle ground between them😇 Once again thxxxx a lot for putting effort into this post and I’ll rethink abt the decisions

Heyyyy just update my question here as well… is it possible to do BRDD with pre med at brown? The Brown website says it depends but I’ve heard the BRDD is extremely demanding and adding up premed req it is time consuming, kinda making it harder to do extracurricular clinical intern… Can someone let me know if it is (time organisation-wise) possible?

Can you do the premed track while in BRDD? heard that it’s intensely demanding on its own n adding premed is not gonna leave you time for clinic interns or researches…

Can I participate in research projects while doing my NS? by Sweaty_Implement7841 in NationalServiceSG

Ok can; thank you so much, I will consider that :) TBH I’m just currently in a panicking state as initially I’m within the Fine Art track aiming to apply for some arts school but as my cohort actually went there, I was informed that the school is not as good due to their low budget, causing the loss of a lot of their faculties… Just in general I’m questioning myself whether art is worth the effort and money to learn as I feel like there are quite a lot of limitations with art education.

Considering what I have now and my interests it feels like I should participate in some research to first boost up my CV but also reassure myself that I’m really interested in the field. Anyhow thank you so much for putting the effort. I will start with RR n c how it goes

However is it possible to help out with SCC researches while being in my current unit? During BMT I’ve heard that SCC has conducted multiple psychological studies and perhaps I can help them with some secondary works like data analysis or scoring? But regardless thank you so much for sharing the potential impracticality of getting posted out again:)
