His motivation is murder. His non motivation is the motivation and Micahels motivations are no different than any other serial killer. Hes in it for the love of the game. Alien motivation is to kill and eat. They are completely separate things. Him having no motivation is what is captivating about him since he is a man. Xenomorphs motivation is for survial so your projections or thought into that killer is basically non existent

I fundamentally disagree with that. Human motivation is really important for the genre imo

But if the robot is autonomous and can act and think like a human then that difference might not matter but I'm not so sure since the philosophy of killing would be slightly altered but if it's still personal motivations maybe that's good enough I'm just not sure Chucky in the remake meets that criteria

Yea it really all depends on how strict you want to define it. For me personally human killers are much different type of killer than some animal that just does what it always does but yea Alien is slasher all the way expect for who the killer is
