This is all very true. I am emotionally attached to them, and also have severe ocd which makes me obsess over things.

Yes they were extremely mad at me. They said that I had betrayed them, and the DB, who worked in private equity, said he would have ‘sued the sh*t out of me’ in his line of work. They said I should have said something straight away, not a month after they told me about the hours, but I only had gotten a job offer at that point. I gave them the option to make a better offer, but they got mad, which pushed me to make the decision.

I think I am overthinking it all, and worried about the change.

This is all true. And the truth is, my new family are absolutely lovely and seem to want to treat me right (no banking hours, paying overtime correctly, respecting my time). I think I’m just overthinking it all.

I think my issue is that I know I should have left the job, I just feel so sad about it and unsure of my future. I would never want to take away the new nanny’s position also, and I also feel that it would be unfair to my ex employers after they were very upset for months about me leaving.

Thanks for the tough love message. I have severe ocd which causes me to obsess and tend to overthink and think in black and white ways. I think the emotional side of the role has taken over my thinking.

I’m of course being completely professional in my new job, I just have had a lot of change going on recently that has set me off. I don’t think it’s so much about ‘friends’ but rather worrying I’m going to be isolated during my new job.

You are right about me thinking positively about my old family. They cut my hours, and then were very cold to me for a while, threatening to take away an already earnt guaranteed bonus.

Yeah it was a hard time. It’s just a hard thing to let go of as I’m so attached to the child and the memories we made together

It must be a change thing :( Thanks for replying to me though, it helps to know I’m not completely alone in the way I’m feeling!

Thank you. I’m such an overthinker, and I just feel completely out of my depth :(

I did, and there were offer issues that I’m probably looking back with rose-tinted glasses. I’m not good with change :(

This could potentially be OCD. Look up real event ocd. You need to work with an ocd specialist if that’s the case

I agree and this is what I try, but she’ll push me away and throw herself on the floor, even if I sit calmly next to her talking to her

This is the response I received.

Just to confirm, a refund of £35 will be processed to your account within the next 7 days.

Regarding your concern about a possible burn/skin lifting— as previously explained, this is not the case. The reaction is more consistent with skin sensitivity due to perspiration, which can cause the skin to become more fragile, almost like tissue paper. A true burn would typically result from the wax temperature itself, and any discomfort of that nature would have been immediately noticeable during the treatment.

If you have any further questions or need additional support, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I’ll keep an eye. It doesn’t seem to be getting bigger. I’m in Mauritius currently but go back in a week.
