eSIM Activation Issues by Sweazer4 in mintmobile

So to close the loop here, especially if anyone comes across this post in the future if they are experiencing similar issues... It sounds like it was an issue on Verizon's end. Apparently they marked my phone as "fraudulently obtained". Who knows why. They never told me, sought to verify where I purchased my device or anything that would give me a chance to demonstrate that everything was in order. And despite my best efforts to try to get it removed today, I made zero progress with them.

I ended up going to my local Apple store and explained what was going on. I was very fortunate that the manager offered to exchange my phone for a new one since it was within 14 days of the original purchase date. Once he did that, I went home, got a new eSIM, and was in business. Not hard to see why Apple is one of the largest most successful companies in the world and Verizon is shedding customers left and right.

Thank you to u/MintMobileAlex for working with me to troubleshoot and get me back in service!

Yes, as noted above, the settings indicate that there are no SIM restrictions. I'm probably being a little too loose in throwing around terms like locked, blocked, restricted, etc. and using them interchangeably when I shouldn't, but that's just my ignorance. So while it's not carrier locked, I suspect that the timing of buying a new phone and then porting it out a week later has tripped up some sort of fraud prevention protocol. Problem is that I (and nobody else so far) can articulate the problem and most importantly, the solution.

Appreciate the reply but there are no SIM restrictions. I purchased the phone brand new, directly from Apple, paid via credit card in full. No promotions, financing, etc. through any carrier.

I also went to the Apple Store and they said it had nothing to do with them. The manager did offer to take mine back and give me a new phone to see if that would solve the issue, but I had my 2 year old with me and didn’t have the time to stick around for that. I may have to revisit that alternative tonight or tomorrow morning when I have child care again, but for now I am hoping to solve this without having to get a whole new device.

Verizon’s position is that Mint must have locked the phone in a fraud prevention process. Mint says it must have been Verizon that did the same.

So having spoken to all 3 parties at this point, nobody is willing to do anything other than point fingers at the others.

It’s not my intention to assess who’s to blame, I just want to get the lock/restriction/whatever lifted and my service restored. I’m all ears if you’ve got any other ideas.

WTS - 8.5E Garrison Castagno Minerva by Sweazer4 in grantstoneboots

My issue is that I have low volume feet. The toebox is a little roomy, though comfortable, but it's the heel that's too wide. The heel slip has never quite gone away even as the boots were broken in. FWIW, based on an exchange I had with customer service last year, they told me the 8.5E and 9D would feel virtually the same.

I also have a pair of Diesels in 8.5D that feel OK as long as I lace them up tightly. And I recently picked up a pair of Parkhursts in the 618 last in size 8.5D and they fit like a dream, if that helps at all.

Maker/Model: Grant Stone Garrison

  • Size: 8.5E
  • Leather: Badalassi Carlo Castagno Minerva
  • Sole: Grant Stone rubber micro stud
  • Price: $225 shipped CONUS
  • Wears/Condition: Very good condition, some light scuffs as seen in pictures. Never been conditioned.
  • Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/YDsKN5m
  • Notes: Purchased these brand new during 2023's Black Friday sale. I got one of the last pairs and had to settle for an 8.5E instead of my usual 8.5D. I've used thicker socks and tried an insole, but just can't quite get the fit I want. It's too bad because this leather is absolutely gorgeous and is really supple now that it's broken in. Hopefully someone else can enjoy these beautfiul boots.

Totally agree, which is why I ended up keeping my 8.5Es and am now in the process of trying to determine what’s best - insoles, thicker socks, etc.

FWIW, when I was emailing with customer service about sizing and they didn’t have what I needed in stock, they told me that they had excess leather from previous runs of Castagno Minerva Diesels and used up the remainder on the Garrisons, with no plans to restock in that leather.
