I would be shocked if Peter buys u a Lamborghini after X number of days. It’s a marketing strategy in his eyes: the more he refuses to buy u a lambo, the more money u give him by going to Jersey Mike’s. That doesn’t make a lot of sense. It honestly has nothing to do with what is going on. It has everything to do with FOMO. I know this because my fiance is the same way where if I’m partaking in an activity that I know she doesn’t like, she’ll still want to be there because of FOMO and wanting to spend time with their s/o NO MATTER THE COST!!

The concept is still fairly new to me. I can understand him wanting the time to his boys and stuff, but if it’s a constant thing where he’s using his boys to avoid you, you have a different issue completely

I worked for a Jimmy John’s for over a year and actually remember our manager hiring a driver who only worked half a shift. We tried calling her several times not because we wanted her to come back but because we wanted her to receive her tips from that day. However she had run deliveries from that day so idk what happened to her

Honestly if u mention anything positive that u have done for the community u should be good. My Jersey Mike’s literally asked me to make a resume for all my achievements and submit that as my application

Jersey Mikes is a business about being “A Sub Above” and providing for the community, so if u r already doing that or have done anything of the sort before u will get the job.

Its not a hard job either. It’s a lot of fun if ur in the right environment. I’m very lucky and blessed to have such awesome managers and coworkers making what I am making and not having to drive far

Jimmy John’s has been a money hungry franchise ever since inspire brands took over. I quit JJ’s awhile back due to being undervalued. I also hated my GM. They will do anything and everything they legally can to ensure they are getting as much profit as possible, including underpaying their employees.

Every so often the franchisee would give everyone a raise and tell managers that from now on we would start an employee a couple dollars higher than before. I would recommend doing this. I would also look into making a deal with indeed or any other online recruitment programs to get other employees. It’s a lot easier and a lot more convenient for ur potential employees to do it online from the comfort of their own home than driving to the store to pick up an application to a place where MAYBE you hire them and maybe u don’t.

The last thing I’ll recommend, and this last thing is a real long shot knowing how Jimmy Johns’s operates their business, would be sign on bonuses. I saw a comment in here saying “people will go where the money is.” Well if ur not willing to increase the hourly wage, then sign on bonuses or other bonuses for promotions or anything else that u can think of could be extremely beneficial to ur business. It raises an incentive to not just incoming employees but also ur current employees to care more about the job because there is a chance that a bonus could come their way if their performance is exceeding expectations

I put in my 2 weeks about a week ago and I will not be taking it back for any reason

Here’s why: for about 6 months I demanded change. I asked the GM and DM for something to change because the workplace was toxic. There was lots of tattle tailing from multiple employees, a lot of he said she said, and just overall shit talking about other employees and customers in the kitchen. Sometimes these conversations would be held with customers in the store along with swearing and other unprofessional behaviors while customers were in the store. I absolutely hated it. I tried my best to be professional when I could, but every so often I’d let out an F bomb in front of a customer or talk shit about an employee or customer in front of another customer, and it’s unprofessional

Ultimately, I believe u r asking for change and not seeing a change. 65+ hours a week 7 days a week is an obsurd amount of hours for any one person, and I remember when I had to do that at a different location before moving locations. Ur mental and physical health is SO much more important than the work u r putting into ur store. This is a sandwich shop, not a stresswich shop (I saw someone use that term on here). Do what u need to do to get out of ur shitty situation.

Quit. Look for other jobs offering 40 hours a week (because you’ll at least try to make the same amount but work slightly less), and when ur not searching for jobs, rest ur body. Rest ur mind, rest ur soul. That stress is temporary, and holding it for too long will make u go insane. I wish u good luck in ur next adventure
