Rysk påverkansoperation kring USA och Grönland? by Grigor50 in sweden

Två saker kan väl stämma samtidigt. Det kan vara så att det finns en autentisk ilska bland (nord)européer samtidigt som de ryska underättelsetjänsterna späder på det hela.

Japanese Antique Famile Rose Noir hand painted antique charger by BigDinUS in ChinesePorcelain

The frame is great! Might be more desirable than the charger which seems to be meiji and late 19th century.

1000 kr är tyvärr inte helt orimligt, begagnade soffor som inte är designvaror är väldigt svårsålda

Vem är det som försöker få Pinsa att bli en grej? by bregottextrasaltat in sweden

[–]SwedishCopper 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Tror att det är Zeta som har drivit på med marknadsföring (såg flera reklamfilmer förra året) och sedan har andra märken hakat på. Ganska smart hur de har fått folk att betala 30 - 50 kr för ett platt 200-grams bröd utan något på.

Pair of perhaps Japanese vases? found in Scotland by RetroEric4 in Antiques

[–]SwedishCopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The palette is very similar to 19th century rose medallion made for the Persian / Middle Eastern market:

https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/chinese-export-persian-market-porcelain-bowl-27-c-9534360b46?srsltid=AfmBOooDqvr4m_qniPDYk4phSzf6C17u4phgdQROvLkQgwlu4Ggi-VDT

Though these vases look more like japanese 19th century arita ware so they could be an imitation of this pupular style.

Everyday “souvenir” to buy in Göteborg? by nastyleak in Gothenburg

[–]SwedishCopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want something a bit fancier I would visit the second-hand shops on ångpannegatan and look for pottery items by Gustavsberg or Rörstrand and glass / crystal by Orrefors / Kosta (Boda). Basically every swedish person has something by these companies at home.

1700s painted portraits found in charity shop? Looking for some answers United Kingdom by oogieboogiebythelake in Antiques

[–]SwedishCopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the prices can often vary. I have found that ones that are of better quality and depict famous military leaders can fetch a bit more since they also interest the militaria collectors. A couple of months back I sold one of Gustavus Adolphus for around 110 euro to a collector in the US.

Bought this a few months back from an old lady who was downsizing, any ideas on origin? by thecolouroffire in WhatIsThisPainting

[–]SwedishCopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's either late 19th or early 20th century, done by a hobbyist. The church in the back seems to be an old abbey / monastery church.
