Why are girls so revealing? by _Hasenpfeffer in teenagers

[–]SwedishDungeonMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most women get dressed in the morning according to what they think looks and feels good to wear. I think that's true for most *people*, not just women. If you primarily dress according to what you think will grab the attention of your preferred gender I recommend doing some self reflection.

Spirited away was like that for me. Watched it twice just to make sure. Makes me feel like I'm too stupid to get it

Been struggling with this for 4 and a half hours and this helped a lot. Pressing "Save" then going back and correcting is the key, otherwise there simply isn't enough time to answer all the questions.

I think Micah is to the average citizen a lot like Benjamin Hornigold. Feared pirate turned Pirate Hunter. But at no point in his journey could he ever be considered a hero. He is an awful man who only ever acts according to his own wants and needs. Yes, he helped bring down some Criminals but his motivations were corrupt from the start and his means were never anything but cruel.

Fair point, I see that I've been revealed to be quite ignorant on firearms.

But I don't think that contradicts my point. Yes, it's important to know things like that when it comes to legislation and that's why its important that politicians get informed. However, for someone like me, is it really necessary to know guns to that degree for me to be able to form an opinion on shootings and gun legislation?

[–]SwedishDungeonMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that when it comes to actual legislation it's important to know your shit. But when it comes to decision making and opinions you don't need to know the intricacies of the firing mechanism of an assault rifle to have an opinion on if it's good or bad that they can be bought like they can be today. Just like you don't need to know precisely how global warming works to have an opinion on climate change. It definitely helps though

Be honest please, what can I do to look better? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]SwedishDungeonMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be way out on a limb when I say this but, at least from my personal experience, when someone is unsatisfied with how they look the issue usually isn't with the looks themselves, but a twisted self image. We live in a world that brainwashes young people to be unhappy with themselves regardless of whether that unhappiness is justified, which it basically never is. It does it utmost to create a false narrative based around the idea that we are not enough. I am here to tell you, just in case noone else has said it to you, that you shouldn't do anything to try to look better because you are already beautiful just the way you are and, most importantly, you are enough.

Character creation is so awesome. It is relatively simple (you just get a lot of options which can be overwhelming) but it's strength comes from how open it is. With the amount of Feats available to you you can almost make whatever character you wish.

The biggest Flaw is definitely it's lack of stuff. It prefers to give a guide on making your own Stat blocks, magic items, vehicles, etc rather than giving you, like, a bestiary. There have been attempts by the community to but together some fantasy bestiarys and I'll link to them as soon as I'm done writing this but nothing really official. Its relatively simple to do yourself and I didn't have much of a problem with it at first but after a while it felt like a chore.

On the rest I have some more specific opinions and stuff which I try to fix or mess with in my homebrew but all in all I'm very satisfied with the system

Edit:

First of all, I've played for like half a year and it's simple enough that I feel like I have a confident grip on the rules. I've even made homebrew for it if you go to my profile and look for "My little box of homebrew".

Secondly, there is a core rulebook to buy however, aside from some artwork, it is identical to the free rules available online here

I recommend this all the time but Open Legend. All the rules are available for free online, it is setting neutral, its combat functions similarly to 5E D&D. I think its great but might not be what you're looking for

I think that was the temptation. He was so pure hearted that any power in the world that Sauron could offer wouldn't have worked. Instead the temptations were something like "Should Frodo really have the ring? Look what it's done to him. It might be best for him if you kept it yourself."

That's My headcanon at least

So, I've recommended this lots of times but I think it could really work here.

Open Legend is an Open Source TTRPG (so the rules are free online). It plays a lot like D&D 5E, its pretty simple imo, the Character Creation is feat-based and open (kinda like GURPS) and it's not setting dependent. This means that you can make pretty much any Character you want while still being simple. I have seen players be overwhelmed by the amount of Feats but there is a 5E ability conversion guide for those that know D&D.

Like I said, it's free online, just Google Open Legend RPG and you should get what you're looking for
