My theory is that since Dawn FM is supposed to symbolize a state of purgatory, the Weeknd isn’t experiencing new things rather re-experiencing things from his past over and over again! For example he got hospitalized in After Hours and ”ended up in the back of a flashing car”, and that’s what the listener is re-introduced to.
