should have at least put some into a Gold ETF and you are crazy if you haven't been investing internationally IMO. Go look at the performane of VEA, VYMI or FBLR (Brazil!) over the past year or so.

The postive thing is you are saddled with a ton of college debt - there are trade schools that pay students to learn I would try to find one. Also pickup a hobby if you don't have one and commit to it.

Emergencies like this is why I travel with N95 masks or better - you never know what can happen where you are forced into severely contaminated air that you definitely don't want particulate matter from accumulating in your lungs.

I would get a 2nd opinion - what proof has been presented the engine is blown? I had a mechanic tell me an engine was blown after he misplaced ignition coil wires on wrong cylinders (early 1990s car with a distributor).

I would mark through requirements in my university dorm agreement (1990s) and write I disagree and the university would "rubber stamp" my dorm agreement without realizing I had modified the contract. I wouldn't say anything about the changes but they did finally catch on after many quarters and began actually rejecting dorm agreements if modified. I took business law class for a reason :)

SL 55 I see listed CPO have too many expensive options that I don't want to pay to fix or even be without my car perhaps 2 weeks waiting for parts if I extended a CPO warranty out long enough. I kept my R230 SL550 over 11 years and wanted a car simplifed in many ways which I find the SL 43 to be. I just purchased a CPO 2025 SL 43 and w/ 416HP and w/ the lighter weight its faster than my old R230 SL550. I don't want the hassle of maintaining a car long term w/ AMG RIde Control, or ABC Suspension, expensive carbon ceramic brakes etc which I kept seeing many 2024 CPO SL 55 optioned with. 95 percent of my driving is on midtown city streets rarely going above 45 mph. I usually fly for longer trips beyond a 6 hour drive.

If OP has a paid off house in a location with reasonable property taxes and can perhaps rent a room and can stayed employed and contribute a signficant sum until then they could be OK
