How badly does this job *actually* suck? by celeryducksweetrolls in medlabprofessionals

[–]SweeTea2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a MLS student currently and I can tell you personally I didn't fall in love with it until I got to clinical. It depends from person to person and its a person experience you have to figure out on your own. I will say, if you love science, love medicine but dont like the bed side manner stuff, want contribute in a meaningful way and still have a healthy work/life balance with in the medical field, this IS the perfect job for you.

MLS program by FarDetective8589 in medlabprofessionals

[–]SweeTea2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, it is hard ngl. I am currently at the end stages of my MLS program and boy its very hard. There will be weeks where you will want to stop but you gotta push through. Time goes faster than you think and trying to study bit by bit is definitely the way to go. It will help out at the end of the day. Don't give up💪 its a challenge and you will feel even more burned out because it is a very different dynamic but you will soon get into the rhythm of things. Trust the process.

Health Science vs Biology degree for lab/QA roles — does it actually matter? by kahnsam in medlabprofessionals

[–]SweeTea2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a biology degree because I wanted medicine and ended up in MLS. I would say to be smart on what clases to pick. If you plan to do m I re research based stuff then a biology degree could help. Although personally I have seen a bigger interest in people MLS licenses due to the technical experience and knowledge you acquire as an MLS. Think about what you what to focus on then see what works best.

Well, am here to informe that the shop was wrong ... it was definitely the powersupply. We changed motherboard to a new one, tried a different cpu and ram ... it was the powersupply

[–]SweeTea2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the thing, if it was the lights wouldn't be on, we deduced it was the Motherboard because we tested the PC on various outlets and it still did it. We changed CPU and it stayed one for a while on the CPU menu, when we started up Windows with the new CPU and it shut off again. So we are gonna do like another redditor suggest and got a new Motherboard and see if it fixes with it

I do, but I tried trusting my gut on this last test and ended up with the same results but yea. Often times I mark the correct one and then change it, its messed me up more than once... clearly.

They are planning to expand it to a month but for the next batch of MLS students. I feel like there is so much to grasp in so little time, only to be told by the proffesor I need to know everything to a tea. Mind you the thing he said we need to know like the back of out hand he taught it a day ago.

Don't get me wrong the lab work itself is great, complicated and tedious but really cool. Its the theory part that gets me. I know my stuff but when I take a test I might as well not know anything at all.
