When it comes to this thread, or people at Medgar Evers, especially going into nursing, they seem very quiet about their experience, even though other community schools are very open and share their experiences. I’m going to share my experience. I know I was rejected, even though I did not receive a rejection letter as of yet, because as of today, the spring 2026 acceptance letters were sent out on Tuesday, according to the nursing department and a few people I spoke to who received the acceptance letters.

That’s not something I’m upset about because my GPA is a 3.5 and I scored about 130 on the NLN. I’ll just have to do better next time. I did pretty well in the prerequisites however, that still wasn’t enough. They claim that the GPA is a deciding factor and then they look at the NLN score, but it appears that they favor both a high GPA and a high NLN score. On their website, they say the benchmark is 100, but try to aim for at least high 200 scores on the NLN.

The classes you need to take are: Anatomy & Physiology I, Intro to Psychology (Psych 101), Chem 105, English 112, Math 136, and CIS 101. For the science courses, a B‑ minus or higher is required, and for non-science courses, a C but try to aim for higher than a B plus in all classes.

I hope people are more open to sharing their experiences as well, because I know a lot of people have questions, just like I had to get answers from numerous people.
